'"There's a honking big spell helping to keep you young, I think," said Willow' Although I mostly want to suffocate Ms R. with a pillow, she clearly deduced the situation rightly. But Modesty didn't want to remain spritely? What's so natural about a lifespan of threescore and ten? When many turtles can remember way back when? I found Modesty and Willie's rejection of immortality daft. But overall your story showed fine workmanship craft.

There's nothing wrong with staying young as though your life has just begun
But if your friends don't stay young too you'd end up lonely wouldn't you?
And if you lose all track of time the blessing's gone or so I'd find.

Excellent story, I only wish it had been a little longer but there is definatly the potential for some sequels here. It has also made me want to re read the Modesty Blaise books. Thanks very much.
It was great. I own the Modesty Blaise comics as well, and I've seen the both M.B movies. The second one is better then first one, even if it is some details that doesn't suit very well into the M.B verse.
This story is cool and I think it explains a few things as well. Maybe they'll stay in contact with the gang from Sunnydale?
Peace out

My thanks for a wonderful story. Modesty was always a favourite character of mine, and I'm delighted to see her crossed with the Buffyverse. If you decide to take this further, it occurs to me that the threat of boredom for Modesty and Willie could be significantly reduced by getting involved with the new Watchers Council. They probably need some more combat-competent non-slayers.
"Restore what was lost. Return the memories that were stolen, remove those that are false, retain those that are true. Unbind that which was bound, restore what was lost. This I ask, in the name of the Goddess, and for the restoration of the balance of things. So mote it be."
It occurs to me that Lucifer wasn't the only one there with altered memories. What about Willow and Faith, and their memories of Dawn, and Connor?

If this was a longer story I'd think about doing something about that, but I never intended it to be even as long as it is. Given a literal interpretation of the wording, they'd remember all of Dawn since the moment of her creation (e.g. about four years) and none of the earlier fake stuff, and they'd remember all of the real stuff about Connor, but since they had little contact with Angel & co while the spell was in place they wouldn't have many problems with false memories etc.

That was fun. I know very little about Modesty Blaise but you included enough of the background to make her and her supporting cast come alive. This story reminds in some ways of how Lucifer is treated in DC’s Vertigo line of comics. Of course there he took mortal form voluntarily and ran a bar. I like how in this and other stories you have the Scoobies playing on the larger stage of the supernatural world. There are no longer just fighting individual battles against demons in local area. They are becoming proactive in taking the fight to enemy. It makes sense with potentially hundreds of Slayers running around now that the balance of power would shift slightly.
Another good read.

Bravo! Excellent story. I thought it was a bit short, but at least you finished it. Lol! I look forward to more of your excellent and original crossover stories.

I'm really enjoying this, its the first Modesty Blaise crossover I have read and I love the idea of the spell keeping her and her associates young. I read several of the books years ago and always enjoyed them so i look forward to reading more of this. Thanks very much.
I really like your story. The whole idea of the Scoobies helping Lucifer take back Hell just tickles me. I look forward to more with a great deal of anticipation. Not to mention the whole idea of the Spell keeping Blaze and Willy alive is also just so logical and funny at the same time I have to bow to your brilliance.

I'm a huge fan of Modesty Blaise, so I am very happy with this so far. Friends in Hell. Lucifer being the real Lucifer, reality extended to keep Modesty young (better than the real ending the MB books,) so far, I'm hooked and I'm happy. Looking forward to further chapters with anticipation.
