Review of chapter "Memories of long ago" from apollo
Review:
I like this. Is it part of the "Unexpected Arrival" 'verse?
Comments from author:
No, It was just an idea I had - and have used in Unexpected Arrival.
Daniel Jackson having, as one of the Stargate Producers said in an interview, Three Ph'ds by the age of 24, is a little hard to explain if he is normal. An immortal with his intense curiosity about cultures and willingness to rough it would have been worth a fortune on many a trading venture into the wilds though...

Comments from author:
Daniel is immortal, originally a Viking of the Rus grouping who traded with Byzantium by traveling north/south using the Russian river system. The country wound up being named after them.
Jack is not immortal, but he is very much an old cold war warrior (note his attitude to Russians in the show) and took the odd 'business trip' behind the Iron Curtain. He speaks the languages he would have needed given the enemies of the era (Russian/Spanish/Pushtun) and you have to have a Masters degree to make Colonel in the USAF.

This was a wonderful beginning and I hope you decide to write more of this, because I really want to read it. Please let me know if you want a beta reader, because I would gladly volunteer. :-) Great job with the research, by the way! It really makes the story.
Interesting story. I'm assuming that dr Jackson is a watcher? And a 'viking sword, over 1100 years old', wouldn't be coincidently connected to Anya/Aud, would it?

Interesting story. I like your characterisation of Jack and Daniel, but I have to admit that I'm a bit confused as to whether or not Jack also has some secret. Normally I'd guess he was Immortal, but Danny didn't feel him so... Anyway, slightly puzzled, but in a good way. hope to see more, and have fun writing.
