This is an interesting idea, but the writing is pretty rough in the first chapter. You have a lot of awkward sentences (for example, the whole "now some people may say..." start to a sentence doesn't fit in with the voice of your otherwise neutral narrator; the tag portion of the first sentence doesn't read smoothly- you would have been better off starting a new sentence after the dialogue). Your word choice is at times kind of chunky, and I think you'd be better served if you tried for a more straight forward narrative voice.

Interesting to read. :-) That was a little surprising, both(!) Slayers in Slytherin. I like it. I wonder how Harry thinks about this?! I hope the Scoobies don't let the house rivalries come between them.
