sometime song fic is a little sketchy or forced. This however, is a brilliant example of not the case. The song ties in nicely with the thoughts of the characters. I love how they're thinking the same things in slightly different ways. And I think the ending is absolutely perfect. *gush*
Although the title doesn't seem like the best line. Although that's personal choice, however the way you left it, I don't imagine either of them letting go. Or really wanting that. I would have gone with something like 'You don't know who I am' but on the other hand, I wouldn't have written something this good, so what do I know? :)

sometime song fic is a little sketchy or forced. - That's the reason why I usually don't like songfics. I steer clear of them for the most part and it drove me nuts that the muse wanted to write this one. I followed advice I had found somewhere (of which I have now forgotten where) that the fic should be able to be read without the lyrics inserted. Like the lyrics are just incidental. So I had used that as my basis when I wrote it.
As for the title... *shrugs* I'm horrible at coming up with titles and summaries which is why I just used the title of the song.
WOW! Just read this for the first time and it is great. Would love to read more about Jack and Buffy. Not only their talk, but their life together. Chaja

*blush* Thanks. However, I'm afraid I won't be writing anymore in this storyline. It was just something that came to me and my muse has moved on.... (now watch me shamefully plug another story) But if you really enjoy the Buffy/Jack pairing, I have written another longer story that pairs them together - Undertow.
Thanks for reading and letting me know you enjoyed it! Pol

But this way you get to decide how it ends. Do they live happily ever after? Does she join the program? Does he become a Watcher? Or do they decide their secrets are too deep and end it all? I shall let your imagination wander and create what it wishes. ;)
Actually, it's all I really saw for the fic, and really, I'm not sure either whether they stay together or not. *shrugs* Sometimes the muse just doesn't let me in on these things.
Thanks for reviewing! Pol

Very nice story. I like the balance and symmetry to their thoughts, and although I loved the ending (Very, very good) I still wished there had been more. :)

Okay, is it just me that treats the 'Song' in 'Songfic as one of those ---------- lines that seperate chapters and skips it??? I mean what is the point of the 'Song'? It's not like the 'Fic' needs it. Certainly not your 'Fic', cuz I thought it was awesome. And that it should really have a sequel...

This story was great! I almost had a heart attack when you ended his POV the first time because I assumed you were going to end Buffy's a similar way and I SO did not want for it to end like that. I was thinking, "Two years isn't too deep?!" Then you continued and I was appeased. I really enjoyed this fic and I hope you continue this. You don't have to because it works like this too, but a continuation would really be appreciated.
Oh, I tend to skip the songs in songfics also, but I read this one and I didn't recognize it until it got to the chorus. I've heard it on the radio, but could never really picture a scenario for this song to be played. Now, I can.
