Review of chapter "Prologue: The Key" from maxthehobbit
Review:
I like your version of the Key. Since it wasn't really fleshed out in the show ... she can be anything you want her to be. You did a great job explaining her powers and the relationship between Dawn and the Key. I've really only seen about three episodes of SG-1 on the scifi channel and don't know much about the show. But I have read dozens of BtVS/SG-1 crossovers and I like the way you gave equal time in the story to both shows. This is a fantastic series. Thanks for posting/sharing this great story.

I have been playing catch-up. I have to admit to never having seen any of the Stargate series, and yet I have enjoyed every minute of this whole series - perhaps I had better look out for a few episodes on satellite now!!
Cassie has a bomb within her that will go off if she gets to close to the StarGate. This means that she would not be able to work at the SGC. Even with this mix up, this series is one of the best I have read in a while.
Comments from author:
Looking over the transcripts from the relevant episodes, I could find nothing that said that the bomb would reactivate, if Cassie ever went back into the SGC. That idea seems to be more a bit of fanon, rather than anything that they actually ever said.
The status of the "bomb" in Cassie is not really known. She was able to go into the SGC's infirmary for treatment of Nirrti's retrovirus in "Rite of Passage," without anyone worrying about it. When mentioned in that episode, it was in the past tense. When they briefly visited the future in "1969" we saw an older Cassandra in the gate room.
Even if the bomb hadn't completely disabled itself, after it failed to go off the first time, the SGC has had 12 years to learn more about alien technology, and may have come up with a way to remove it. They wouldn't leave something like that sitting as a potential time bomb if they had any way of removing it.

There's a few people I would love to turn into a rabbit, then feed my brothers snake... :) Wonderful work in describing everyone's reactions to Willow abilities.
