Review of chapter "Aftershock" from Twoboots
Now that was depressing. Well written, but still depressing.
Comments from author:
Thank you. It was supposed to be depressing. It was intended to show the stark horror of war, and the cold truth that in the end, everyone loses, even those who survive. I did also try to capture the human aspect, and the counterpoint that when a war is truly, finally over, that those who remain, though they be few and may hold no love for one another, may be a measure of comfort to one another through their very presence. That no matter who you are, things like war do touch your life, and it's how you interact with others that determines who you are, and what you will become.
This is also one of the very few true dark vignettes I've written, and in my own opinion, the best of them, which is why I posted it. So again, thank you for taking the time to comment.
