My answer to Asher question would be, that is the reason that she feels save carrying holy water and a stake. Vampires are afraid of them and I would show him her cross always a bonus. Carrying them keeps the vampires away. You never can be save enough and she is not stupid. She probably carries a silver knife also well a knife hurts. There are always vampires who want a bite without your permission. Not a lie now is it. But that would be my answer. There isn't a law that forbid to carry those items.

What gives Asher the right to go trough her stuff. I would be so mad. He has no right to look without asking. So wrong.

I like how Dave describes Buffy as "slightly insane" - he doesn't know the half of it! And there are so many ways Buffy could answer that question. She could keep trying to bluff or should could come clean and admit to being a vampire hunter. Either one would still be surprising to Asher :)
