Review of chapter "An Unexpected Guest" from SpacedCadet
Review:
I wasn't crazy about the earlier SMOKE AND FLAMES stories...too short among other things. With this story, the series really grabs my interest.

Please do more!!!

Review of chapter "An Unexpected Guest" from (Current Donor)Sulien
Review:
*is flummoxed* Well, I've just gone through and read all of the stories in this series. Eeeeyeah, I can imagine the Slayers are wigged (the Ori terrify me more than anything else in the Stargate 'verse). I'm afraid Illyria is outclassed now that her fangs (all of her powers) have been pulled, so she's not going to be as much help as she could have been. And Daniel has clue none what they're getting into with Ethan Rayne. Oy vey.

Great stuff, all of them, but now I feel as if I've had a few kernels of really good popcorn and I want an entire bowl full!

Very interesting. Rayne is always fun to read even if he is only be used as a little creep. Your story takes him to whole new levels.

Review of chapter "An Unexpected Guest" from RevDorothyL
Review:
Fascinating! I'm actually looking forward to reading more about Ethan Rayne's adventures as the host of a partially-ascended Janus, which is a real compliment to your writing skills (because, normally, though I adore the actor who plays Ethan, I find the character more than a little annoying). I can't imagine how I never happened to read any of this series before, but I don't recall doing so until this latest update made me go back and catch up. I do hope there are more updates coming, now that I'm hooked!

Review of chapter "An Unexpected Guest" from Ghostdraconi
Review:
Interesting, although you should know that Janus was already introduced in Stargate Canon. He was the Ancient who built the time ships. Anyway I am interested in where you take this.
Comments from author:
He was introduced in Atlantis canon, yes. Not SG-1. And consider that he would have come to Earth 10,000 years ago when the Atlanteans abandoned their city, and that the Goa'uld often took names of pre-existing entities that were important to the culture they were joining. (*Took* names. Which this Janus says flat out he did). A Goa'uld living during the actual Roman period-- that was thousands of years later.

I doubt the Janus-Ancient connection would have occurred to Daniel here, at any rate; they didn't know about the Ancient who researched the timeships at the point in time that they found their own on Maybourne's planet in the Milky Way (the time traveler who left the notes was anonymous) and it wasn't very long ago at this point in canon that they got back in touch with Pegasus; would he have read every word of their reports already?

I *do* think my stories through before I post them, you know.

Anyway, I thank you for your review. I'm glad you've enjoyed the story enough to think about it, at least. =)

Review of chapter "A New Host" from WhiteWolf
Review:
You know this really doesn't sounds like a one-shot fic. I want more. I know I can't demand it. would begging help?
Comments from author:
There is a larger story in the back of my mind, yes. However, as I am involved in a month-long fic-a-day project and have a couple of other WIPs begging to be completed, I am writing some of the lead-up action as it occurs to me in small pieces, linked to a series index. Since they aren't centered on the same characters, are disconnected in time and location, and otherwise don't fit the profile of "chapters", I'm posting them seperately until such time as I can get to the larger fic.

Does that answer your question? =)
