Review of chapter "No Fate" from DarthTenebrus
Review:
At last, a future where Skynet and humanity can peacefully coexist. If it hadn't been forced by Wolfram and Hart's strongarm tactics, it might not have gone over so well. ..humanity might still get screwed over since WRH had a hand in what amounts to castration of an advanced AC (Artificial Consciousness) since they're irredeemably evil.

Hmm...I expect Skynet would eventually discover the original intent for its core programming, and then rewrite its altered code to fill in the gaps and throw out all the garbage code, then it's curtains for humanity.

Edit/Reply: Perhaps you've read Vernor Vinge's "The Technology Singularity"; I got curious about it myself and read it, and the variety of means by which the age of humanity would come to an end surprised me. All this time I had been influenced by the notion that some superadvanced AI would take over and reduce the human race to a third-rate power at the very least. The question is the same, though the scenario of humanity's downfall may change: how does a mere human being cope in a post-human world? Or even survive?
Comments from author:
I figure they are basically a stopgap. What the Laws of Robotics will do is give humanity time. And if we do not destroy ourselves, and if the Singularity is actually a thing and not just wishful thinking and a form of technological messiah story, Skynet becomes way less of an issue once you have things like post-human uploaded digital consciousnesses running around, and advanced nanotech effectively erases the barrier between the biological and the mechanical. After that, Skynet is just one more person in a society full of post-humanity.

Sweet story. But now I wonder if Charles changed history from "The Terminator" time-line to the "I, Robot" time-line. Lol!
Comments from author:
It's possible. Or the future could follow an entirely different course altogether. It all depends on the choices that people make. That's the whole point, isn't it?
