Review of chapter "Chapter Three" from kalahari
Review:
If Harry is as observant as you make him, he should trip about all the little things, that are wrong, if you are moving from England to California:

- The cars drive on the wrong side of the road.
- All the cars are to big.
- The door handles are missing, and there are door knobs instead. He might have to be shown to open the first door.
- Harry would not be used to any air conditioning (in residential homes).
- To Harry more than one bathroom on each floor would look excessive (a simple bathroom is >$15000), but the bathrooms themselves would miss the tiling.
- To Harry the house would have a cardboard look.
- There are only single paned windows.
- The house has no real sound isolation (which makes a lot of difference if he expect to be hit for making any noise).
- The grass in California looks a lot different than the grass in England. The English is very fine, very nice to walk upon barefoot, and needs rain every other day. In California you have sturdy prickly grass, which can stand a drought.

- After Willow told Harry, her parents are well of, but not rich, he could ask, why they are living in a shed (or a summer house) instead of a real house. (In Europe real houses are build from brick or stone or concrete.)
- Harry shouldn't be able to identify the washing machine. European ones look different than US ones.

More General remarks:
- Is the shopping spree Willow takes Harry on some US custom? I stumble on these now and than in fanfiction, and they absolutely make no sense to be but I am a) German and b) usually dislike shopping.

Review of chapter "Chapter Three" from kalahari
Review:
Hmm, chapter three feels a little off.

Harry should run into all the little differences between living in the US and living in the UK.
- The Dursleys house would have been build from brick if old, from lime sand brick if new.
Both dampen sound a lot more than a wooden Californian house.
- To an European eye a lot of US houses look more like sheds than like houses. The roof is to shallow, the walls are from wood instead of stone. There is no thermal mass to speak of.
- Harry shouldn't know a mall. They are unusual in the UK.
- Harry should already have stumbled on language issues between UK English and US English.
- Harry shouldn't know a dryer. The Dursleys were not that well off, and stingy. They wouldn't have had one.
- Harry should have noted that the door handles and the light switches were wrong.
- Harry should have commented on everyone driving on the wrong side of the road.

About the description of the garden:
it should look different than the Dursley garden.
US squirrels are supposed to be grey. European squirrels are red brown.
The grass planted in south California usually looks different than grass planted in England. England is wet all year round, and south California is very dry during summer.

Review of chapter "Chapter Two" from kalahari
Review:
First you are making Willows parents really rich instead of well off.
A bathing room on the ground floor. Than Harry gets his own bathing room on the first floor.
A bathing room is at least 10000 Euro in Germany, that would be at least $14000 in the US.
Write "the bath" instead "his bath" to make it more believable.

Than in the next chapter there is air condition running during the night. That doesn't fit well to South Californian climate.
If you need air condition that implies a very shoddy building.

As the story reads very nice otherwise, these things make a bad hiccup during reading.

Regards

Review:
Oh I love this wonderful story so far. It's beyond wonderful. I think it's really cool that Harry could see through the plane. I love how you have the two interact with eachother and how they are each dealing with this change in thire lives independently. I must say however that I am extremely sad that this story hasn't been updated in 3 years. I eagerly await the next update hopefully soon. ^_^
