I could easily visualize the Sean Connery Ramius, and hear his voice with every word spoken, which I believe is a mark of good characterization.
I also think you did an exceptional job with setting the scene for the dockside vampire attack, especially with remembering to incorporate the smells not just in the description of the area, but to have Xander reacting to them as well.
I wish it had been considerably longer, it would have gotten a higher rating that way.

Cute story, but I have to mention (given that I just recently re-read the book), that Mark (not Marcus) would have referred to his former submarine as a 'he' not she, and also, do you really think he would have been so cavalier about spouting that the US Navy took his ship from him? Or the name of the ship?

I loved this Story!
You wrote Marcus perfectly! Could hear his voice speaking each line and just know he would've liked Xander allot.
It's best to feed the plot bunnies when they come, otherwise they start on the furniture. I hope your movie library holds many plot-bunnies within, waiting for your viewing pleasure. (oops, now I have you fearing your movies, so sorry,... no I'm not, bite I say BITE!)
