Review of chapter "Epilogue" from loretta
this was a good story, will you write a sequel one day?
Comments from author:
Sorry, no, this wasn't written with a sequel in mind and I also don't really have any plans or ideas for one. Glad you enjoyed the story though! Thanks for reviewing!

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from MarcusSLazarus
Interesting crossover idea, to say the least.

Not only did you manage to make rather effective use of Ethan Rayne, but your new take on Petunia’s history and her past history with Ethan and ‘Ripper’ was really rather effectively expressed without anyone being blatantly OOC.

To say nothing of a dramatic ending, of course; bringing in D’Hoffryn like that was an EXCELLENT twist to the plot.

Keep up the great work!

Just one point; breaking Harry’s wand and never addressing his need for a replacement seemed a bit pointless (Particularly when Willow might be able to fix it herself in a moment if she wanted to)
Comments from author:
Lol, the Petunia-D'Hoffryn thing was the entire point and inspiration for the story. I can't even remember if I was watching an episode of Buffy or whatever that brought it on, but I suddenly thought 'hey, you know, someone should use a vengeace demon to get back at a Death Eater'. And Petunia is nothing if not vindictive, plus someone you wouldn't expect to know how to do something like that and I like surprise twists. Uh, Harry's wand needing replacement was never a high point of the story. And Willow might be able to fix it, but it probably wouldn't occur to her to offer unless Harry himself made a big deal of it... Breaking the wand in the first place was a way of showing just how badly things were going before the cavalry arrived. ;P Dramatic tension and all that.

I'm glad you liked! Thanks for reviewing!

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from spring
Wonderful story. It didn't seem like the qustion about HOW the death eaters were able to get past the wards was ever answered.
Comments from author:
They knocked on the door and were invited in. Kind of... I think... Basically, they got in the non-magical way. Or possibly collaborated with Wolfram and Hart... Or Ethan's chaos magic next door interfered with the magic of the wards... The point being, they got it. And then fic happened.

Glad you liked the story despite the ambiguity there! :D

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from draconis
Very good piece. Could have used more detail in some areas, and definitely more info with regard to Lucius' life under Moldywart, where Petunia and Dursley are moving, Ethan's impact on Fred/George's product line, and a few other items that didn't come to a definite conclusion.

It did seem VERY odd that Giles and Ethan seemed to be getting on so well, and...wasn't Ethan either still a prisoner of the US government or an escaped fugitive at the end of the series?

But...for a quick story providing a totally new idea in the Dursley household was very good. Personally, I was anticipating Petunia flaying Lucius much as Willow did Warren, but the twist with D'hoffryn was inventive.

Wow! Petunia had Issues.
Comments from author:
I figured everything didn't need to come to a definite conclusion. I've hinted that there are going to be friendships, but left most of the future up to everyone's imagination. As for Lucius' life under Voldemort... I think Petunia did a pretty good job of describing that herself.

I would like to point out that we don't really see very much Giles/Ethan interaction until the very end, when they're first of all both mostly concerned for Petunia and then... well, maybe they've made peace? I never actually showed any Petunia/Giles/Ethan interaction before the death eater attack... mostly, because it was all from Harry's point of view. In my mind, Ethan had gotten her and Giles in touch again and then she had mostly been talking to Giles without Ethan. As for where Ethan was at the end of the series... I honestly can't remember what happened to him. I know that in the comic books he was a prisoner of the US government, so that sounds about right.

Glad you liked the story. The whole D'hoffryn thing was the entire point of the story. It just occurred to me that would be a great way for a relative Muggle to trump over a death eater. And I didn't want to show Petunia as too powerful, because she's not supposed to be. And yeah, she definitely has issues... but I think that's obvious from the books, lol.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from ForTheJoy
This is a great story--Lucius's fate was perfect!

But I'd love to see something where the Scoobies respond to the fact the Petunia's an unrepentant child abuser, because that really doesn't seem like the sort of thing they'd be okay with, and they heard Harry mention it without even seeming to care.

Oh, and Lucy the dog, was that supposed to be a fake-out, because I TOTALLY thought Ethan was talking to Lucius! Very cool!
Comments from author:
I'm glad you liked Lucius's fate, lol. And that Lucy the dog worked as a fake-out - I love it when my misdirections work.

Did the Scoobies really miss Harry mentioning he was being abused and not say anything? You're right, that is something they would not be at all happy about... I'm assuming Ripper came out and called her on it... Actually, it's probably me paying attention to certain details so much that I miss others completely. This is why I now have a beta, lol. Still, now that I know about it, I'm annoyed at myself for ignoring such an important detail. Damn.

Anyway, thanks so much for reviewing!

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from Keshkreature
Very nice! I was wondering a bit weither Vernon would be revived, since he died of magical means, although I can't say that I'm sad to see him perish. Petunia didn't seem to grieve for him very much after her dark-mojo clensing, becoming sortof happy, although I guess people deal with stress differently, and she really was an odd ball with a wacked history. I really like how Willow brushes off their request, and Snape's acceptance. Draco's placement was great too.
