Review of chapter "Chapter 20: through the Looking Glass" from SEAborg
Interesting story. I particularly liked that, unlike the previous two in the series, this story changed the Star Wars canon dramatically. I've never been a big fan of stories that stick too closely to the original story, but this changed the canon dramatically, without messing up the future for the next episode.
Another thing I liked was that, unlike many crossovers, you strengthened the antagonist's, rather than simply adding forces to the side of good, without equal advantage to the enemies.

Review of chapter "Chapter 20: through the Looking Glass" from valdimarian
Man... so much to say and I forgot like... 90% of it when I saw Thrawn's name! I've got to say, as soon as I saw Halcyon's name I immediately thought "Wait... wasn't he...? Nah, the Corellian's wore green robes... but... no..." but when you said he had 2 kids, I knew it had to be him. Man, I LOVE the references you sprinkle in your stories, I wonder if you'll be able to slip something about that buried SSD that Corran was stuck in for a bit...? Just... so many references, so much love!
One downside, it's a bummer having to pop back to your author's page, would it be possible to arrange the stories into a Series?

Review of chapter "Chapter 20: through the Looking Glass" from MarcusSLazarus
Now THAT was a nice little twist you worked in there; at the last minute, when all is lost, the rescue party from Earth drop in to turn the tide, and the resulting shift is VERY dramatic.
Which isn’t to say that what took place beforehand wasn’t good as well; Buffy’s emotions at the loss of her new family were very clearly written, and her reaction to her visions of Anakin becoming Vader were particularly well-presented, to say nothing of her response to being reunited with the old gang from Sunnydale.
Plus, of course, the fight with Grievous was BRILLIANT; after all the trouble he caused so many Jedi in the original series, Buffy takes out the ‘walking tin-can’ in barely a few seconds simple by using a less orthodox strategy than he was expecting.
And as for the Scooby Gang’s reactions to learning about Buffy’s new life...
I think I’ll always remember Faith calling Yoda a muppet, if nothing else, even if Xander’s reaction to being in space and Dawn’s thoughts on the Padawan hairstyle were rather amusing as well (Buffy’s confrontation with Willow after Xander brought her back was PARTICULARLY chilling, to say the least; even after saving Willow, it’s clear that NOTHING is going to be the same between them).
And as for your OC of Nigel Ambrose-Bellairs…
A PERFECT example of everything that was wrong with the old Watcher’s Council and a character that it is thus VERY easy to hate; the prat’s role might have been minor, but I greatly enjoyed seeing him get what was coming to him when Buffy returned.
Admittedly, I was surprised Anakin didn’t put a BIT more independent thought into the idea of using the Dark Side in this version of events, given that he has Willow as a prime example of somebody who was corrupted by it, but given that all evidence suggests that the two of them didn’t spend much time together before Willow’s fall to the Dark Side it’s not like it’s impossible to assume he just didn’t think much about using her as an ‘example’ because he hasn’t spent much time with either ‘version’ of her.
In the end, my main problem is the Buffy/Jacen thing; while it was an interesting touch, it didn’t really seem to add anything to the overall plot, particularly since Jacen was around so briefly that we never even really got a chance to get why Buffy married HIM.
The summary you gave us of her relationship with him was interesting, don’t get me wrong, but in the end his presence just felt rather ‘tagged on’, like you only included him to give Buffy a REASON for not being around for three years of Anakin’s life and thus give Palpatine a chance to gain more influence over him; if you’d at least had Jacen appear BRIEFLY in a previous story- thus establishing a pre-existing ‘rapport’ between him and Buffy that was deepened when they were stuck together- it would have seemed a bit less like you were only using him as an excuse...
The same problem applies to Buffy suggesting that Xander’s the only one who can bring Willow back from being Traya; it would have worked better if you’d shown the train of thought that led to Buffy concluding that Xander was the one who could reach the Willow in Traya, because as it was it just seemed like Buffy selected Xander for that task on a whim.
At least with Qui-Gon Jinn’s resurrection you dropped a couple of hints about that in the previous story; these latest twists came COMPLETELY out of the blue…
In the end, what happened in this story was excellent; you just needed to lay the groundwork for the events mentioned in a bit more detail, otherwise it seems like you just stuck them in at the last minute because you couldn’t think of anything else.
Still, the resolution of this chapter has lain the groundwork for some VERY interesting future plot developments; I look forward to seeing where everything goes from this point onwards.
Comments from author:
Well, my response won't be as long or thought out, but let me respond to a few things:
1. Lord Ambrose-Bellaires is not actually my character. He is taken from the book 'Queen of the Slayers' by Nancy Holder, who is an even worse writer than me (and yet still gets published!) He was, at the time, a cannon character that is introduced into the timeline that followed season 7 of the series, but has now been reclassified as an AU since the Season 8 Comics have been released.
2. Buffy and Jacen- this is actually more of a set up of things that are yet to come. Her relationship with Jacen plays a pivotal role in Episode 4, as you will see.
3. I do agree that I should have had Buffy come to a clearer conclusion about Xander saving Willow; that being said Qui-Gon was thrown in last minute due to me having watched Batman Begins are remembering how awesome Liam Neeson is.
Told you I was a terrible writer:)
Thanks as always for your review!.

Hey I just wanted to point out something that I noticed. In Chapter 15: Sanctuary, you mention that Jedi Master Bol Chatak was killed by clone troopers protecting Master Roan Shyne and Olee Starstone, but then in Chapter 18: Last Council, you have Master Chatak at Pollis Messa. Just something that I wanted to point out.

For the Stargate/Star Wars cross, the only well-written, long story I've really seen is "Force" by Mara Jade Jedi. I don't know if she's posted on Stargate sites, but it is on FFN.

*blinks* Interesting! I like how you dealt with the Scooby/Jedi meeting and the plan to hide the Jedi. Now I'm just waiting for the eventual reunion between Buffy, Han, and Joyce.

This has been an excellent series so far. I am looking forward to reading the next one. Thank you for sharing it. (I must admit I am hoping that Buffy and Ben get together since Buffy is creating the new improved Jedi council, I know it is too soon since loosing Jacen but eventually I have hopes she will find a Love that won't leave or die on her.)

I just read through all three of the episodes in one sitting and just wanted to say congratulations on such a great story. Until Giles showed up I was really worried there wasn't going to be a happy ending. Can't wait for Ep. 4.

Thanks for the review! As for episode 4, it is right now airing exclusively on Fanfiction.net, until such time as I stop being lazy and format them for this site.

I love this series. You write it so well. I checked faithfully every sunday on tth for updates. I can not tell you how happy I am when I see you have updated.
You make the characters so full of life, the characterizations (especially Buffy), descriptions, battle scenes, interactions and emotions are just wonderful. Very nicely done. I really like how you give a little hint of the direction it will go and still when that time comes, BAM, it still suuprises you. The suspense is nerve wracking. I just love it overall. Just right balance on fluff, pathos, action and romance.

Review of chapter "Chapter 20: through the Looking Glass" from ChristaBelle
Yay! Bitter-sweet to have to leave some behind, but great in how Buffy et al returned home.
It will certainly take a while for Buffy, Willow and Tara to be able to face each other again, but I hope for their sakes that it happens. It may not be fair of me, but I don't care for Kennedy (just her name reminds me too much of a certain Senator whom I hold in great disfavor) and I hope that Tara will toss her over. Tara deserves better. Or are you going to actually make the Kennedy character palatable? Good luck on that one!!
Will Buffy find Han again? And did he rescue his baby sister? I hope so!! That would go light years towards softening Buffy toward Willow and allowing Willow to begin to forgive herself a bit.
You know, if you really want to celebrate your one year mark, what better way could there be than to post the first chapter of Episode IV? Starting the second trilogy the same day as the first? Perfect! C'mon, you know you wanna!

Wow loved the last few chapters of this story I am sorry to see it end. Glad there will be more in another story. Also the crossover that you posted a sneak peak for will that be posted here or at another site? It sounds very interesting too. But back to the main story I know Xander means well but he needs to understand that Buffy needs time sure it wasn't Willow but also Willow made the choice to begin with it wasn't like she was possessed by a demon unless Willow has a split personality or something like that. Willow choose to do the darker magic and then it just took over. Not like Anikin who had a spell on him. At least that is how I see it Willow could have chosen differently in the begining. I also liked how Buffy dealt with Faith and how she looks up to Faith and such. Loved Giles slugging Nigel and then Buffy talking to him was great.
Ok done babbling as you can tell I liked the story and look forward to the next one and the other crossover too.
