Excellent choice having Dawn be the forth member it makes sense. Love the idea of Faith learning fight one handed, it's difficult and most swordsmen would scream at you for attempting to handle things with a broadsword one handed, but it can be done although you will tire very quickly. You're better off using extremely sharp Asian style blades as they are lighter weight, I have no doubt that Faith will still make a blade sing!

Yeah, I fully realize that one-handed broadsword fighting is only done in the movies, which is why loved the fencing angle a reviewer suggested. And who knows, Faith might in the end start using an Asian-style blade, but I think she'd start off with a broadsword and try and make that work first, since it's what she's used to handling... Eh, I'm not going to worry about specifics in this story.

I am impressed. Well worth the wait. Though I am somewhat dubious about Dawn being a Dragon, the story is fantastic overall. I like how you've gone with Draco's redemption, the developing relationship between the Council and the Wizards and all the good characterization. The plot is flowing and I get the feeling we are soon to reach the end game. Shame about Snape and Tonks but this story has become one of my favorites.

Well, she's not an actual dragon - no sudden animal trasformations in this story - although there is a reason for the name. I'm glad the wizard/watcher's council relationship is developing well; I'm trying very hard to keep them ballanced and working together. And we are indeed slinking our way towards the end game... sort of. Snape is my favourite character and I absolutely hate that I had to kill him off! But plotwise and characterwise I just had to. :(

To answer your questions:

Angel... well, actually, you'll see a bit of him in the next chapter (as in the one after the one I posted today). Illyria does have a big role to play and she'll be around in the future. I, too, love her as a character, but there are so many other characters in this that it's hard to give everyone big roles.

And I had actually debated about making Dawn and Draco a couple, but then decided that the way I was writing them, they just didn't have the right kind of chemistry. Besides, Draco's emotionally in a very vulnerable place right now, even if I'm not really focusing on it. To me it feels like him suddenly developing anything meanful for Dawn would come across as unrealistic and shallow of him. But I do think they make a great team working together. =D

It took me two days, but I finally caught up with the story! You know, I think I had come across this story before, but passed it by because of the ocs. I had just finished reading a bunch of badly done stories with Mary-Sue's and--horror of horrors--had just realized I had created a Mary-Sue of my own. And written 17 chapters of it. Tolkien would be spinning in his grave and the creators of Dragonball Z, Inuyasha, and Yu Yu Hakusho would commit ritual suicide if they found out what I had done with their characters. Love your story so far. It's kept me in suspense and begging for more. So... More please! Thanks! P.S. Sorry this sounds rambling... I tend to do that often, hence my (i) usually (/i) short reviews. Yeah, I realized even as I was writing it that I was taking a huge risk with the amount of OCs in that first chapter, but I just honestly couldn't think of a better way to start the story off or to introduce those particular characters into the story. I'm sure that, like you, a lot of people were probably put off by it. So, I'm very happy you gave this another try now. Not to mention super impressed that it only took you two days to get caught up.
