Review of chapter "Chapter 27 pt 2" from jerichoras
Review:
The first part had the threads of the story spread wide but you are starting to pull them all together into a really nice weave. I hope you are able to finish this story but if not thank you for what you have written.

Wooooooowhooooo amazing work great chapter I was on the edge of my seat reading this ;D
Comments from author:
Lol, thanks! Glad to hear the big epic battle scene worked.... although I suppose it wasn't really an epic battle scene was it? It was a bit too splintered for that. Anyway, whatever it was, glad you enjoyed it!

Awesome chapter, yet again! So totally looking forward to the next, especially now that we're coming to an epic climax. The prophecy hasn't even been fulfilled yet, so things still have time to REALLY get fired up. And I'll tell you one thing, though - it's gonna be mind-blowing.

Keep up your amazing work!

No pressure, right? Lol!

Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) Next chapter won't be quite so mind-blowing as it's a bit of a calm after the storm... er, well. Eh, I suppose it'll be tumultous enough. Hehe, you're right the prophecy hasn't been fulfilled yet. But it will be. Soon. Thank you so much for reviewing!

Review:
I should point out that, while the sacrifice was made out of love, it has to be that 'specific' threat.

Lily sacrificed herself to protect Harry from Voldemort, so Harry is protected from 'Voldemort's' killing curse. Possibly his servants as well. If some other Dark Lord shows up and tries to kill Harry, he'd have been as vulnerable to it as anyone else.

Ah well, your story, your rules.

I think Dawn would be immune, because Buffy sacrificed herself for her.
Comments from author:
Oh that makes so much sense! I had wondered about that as I was writing... That's what I get for thinking I was being clever I guess. On the other hand, Connor's got so much weirdness going for him. I mean his birth was made possible by an ancient goddess so that she could essentially give birth to herself, so really Darla staking herself for him is sort of the last of the things people did in order for him to be born.

Thanks for pointing that out! I've sort of fallen out of the HP fandom for the most part and clearly I don't know the books as well as I thought I did anymore.

Review:
Warning: There's quite a bit of gushing. It's 1 AM and I'm at the airport after going back and forth across the states for a few days. Sue me.

Alright, this is super awesome. Like, really super awesome. I started reading this about three days ago and you have no idea how engrossed I became so quickly. And then I let out a really loud 'NO' when I found that I had come to the most recent chapter. And that it wasn't finished yet. So this only makes me really fucking excited for what comes next.

K, so to sum up my feelings on all that I've read these past three days...

I love the prophecy. It's really fun to try and figure out the meaning behind the words myself. And then the realization of what Voldy would try to do just got me speechless - because it FITS. It fits his MO, it fits his whole thing and shit. It's awesome.

Also - shut up Zhur, Shakespeare is perfect for these guys. I like picking out the references. So shush.

Speaking of Zhur - your original characters are awesome. I cheered when Anthony punched Scrimgeour. Because Anthony is an awesome PM who would not stand shit from an underground world. And I secretly really kinda hope that Anthony meets with Faith again. Because I always loved Mayor Wilkins being such a great father figure to Faith (in the sense that he loved her like his own daughter and would do anything for her) and I really half-hope he becomes such for Faith. But in the way she becomes a bodyguard for him or something.

Your two Ancients - badass. I love them. Phythia is perfect. She's partly insane, all cryptic, and just awesome. And her prophecies are great. Especially when you start to understand them as you continue through the story. And it makes you uncomfortable because you don't want bad things to happen to these characters.

Angela - or Azazella - is beautiful. I love that she has her own humor, while mostly in her demonfire transportation and scaring the crap out of people. When she was just Angela the servant, I loved her because I knew she was something bigger, but I wasn't sure until just before the whole dungeon escape if she was an Ancient.

And I absolutely love how great you get everyone's character and voices. From the proper and old-age speak of Illyria, Phythia, and Azazella to the extreme broken Scoobie-isms of the Scooby Gang. You can guess who's speaking just by the dialogue alone.

This story is great, what with how you bring all these characters together. There are errors, yes, but in grammar and spelling and such, and are few. The one big complaint I had was that the fact that Voldy was looking for the Gem of Amarra didn't do too much. I kept expecting that if Spike heard, he'd either crack up in the face of Death Eaters before saying it was destroyed or start bashing Angel for destroying it as soon as they mention it.

I had a feeling that after Dawn's Ancient powers awaken, she won't be able to stay like she had. Azazella, Illyria, and Phythia are always on the move. The Key had been around for more than a couple thousand years prior to becoming human. I have a feeling it wasn't stationary. And I have a feeling that Dawn won't be entirely Dawn anymore. And it makes me sad because Buffy and Spike and everyone spent so much time and sacrificed so much to keep her safe. And while she'll be safer than ever, she might not be Dawn so much as the Key. And it may overtake her entire self and who she is and FUCK.

It makes me sad to think about.

Last thoughts: I hope not too many people die in the coming chapters.

Like Moody. Or Tonks.

At least Moody lasted longer in this than in the books.

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I'm in the middle of replying to comments on the latest chapter and here I'm seeing I never replied to this one! Have no idea how that happened, this was such an amazing review too! Geez. My only excuse is that I was knee-deep in Big Bang writing, which had pretty much taken over my life at that point.

Having said that, thank you so so much for this amazing review! Seriously every single word made ridiculously happy. Original characters are always such a gamble in fanfictions - I love writing them and won't stop if I feel a story needs them, but I'm under no illusions that I probably lost quite a few readers by including so many of them in the first chapter. Phythia is I think as much a work of art as she is a character. The amount of research that went into her clothing and speach patterns alone makes her my favourite of the Ancients (seriously you can link every single piece of jewellry to different periods and places in time). Azazella actually sort of managed to develope her own personality as the story progressed. My main concern with her was to make her like Illyria, but not.

Lol, glad you liked the Shakespeare. It's admitedly mostly MacNab with the Shakespeare love (who is by far my favourite of that lot to write). I'm glad the voices of the characters came out with their own flavour. I love writing characters - it's probably why all my stories tend to morph into twice the anticipated length. Not counting this one. I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into when I started writing this story.

Ah yeah, the Gem of Amarra could've been a bigger plot point I admit. Mostly I needed some reason for Voldy's forces to come into contact with the Black Thorne and to get those magic-cancelling wards before the Black Thorne actually came forward officially. The Gem of Amarra fit because it's recognizable as something voldy's not going to find no matter how hard he looks.

Yeah you're right, Dawn won't be able to stay the same once she awakens as the Key. But unlike Illyria or Azazella, she's also not a shell housing a powerful demon soul. Fred isn't Illyria, but Dawn IS the Key so her transformation won't be the same as it is for those two. And I suppose you can also assume that Phythia managed to get her hands on a human shell as well even if it's not actually stated anywhere.

Again, thanks so much for your wonderful comments and I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. =D

Delighted at another update, well written and tense but most militaries doe not use US rank insignia. British officers have no birds in their collar tabs.

Review:
Excellent choice having Dawn be the forth member it makes sense. Love the idea of Faith learning fight one handed, it's difficult and most swordsmen would scream at you for attempting to handle things with a broadsword one handed, but it can be done although you will tire very quickly. You're better off using extremely sharp Asian style blades as they are lighter weight, I have no doubt that Faith will still make a blade sing!
Comments from author:
Glad you like Dawn as the Fourth Ancient. =D

Yeah, I fully realize that one-handed broadsword fighting is only done in the movies, which is why loved the fencing angle a reviewer suggested. And who knows, Faith might in the end start using an Asian-style blade, but I think she'd start off with a broadsword and try and make that work first, since it's what she's used to handling... Eh, I'm not going to worry about specifics in this story.

Thanks for reviewing!
