Review of chapter "Chapter Eight" from Harbinger
Review:
Fantastic work sir, hope you're muse comes back to this.

I wonder if Xander is going to get "creative" with how he questions Anya, and how she will react (besides terror and agony) with the man she had at once loved and how vicious he is now. Because he doesn't see the woman he had loved, but the former thousand year old man hating demon who played a major part in his divide with the gang.

Poetic Justice at it's finest.
Comments from author:
Glad you enjoyed the story so far.

And the result of Xander's meeting up with Anya will be - quite interesting. ;-)

Review:
It occurs to me that the statute of limitations hasn't passed on what Buffy did to Xander. Any chance that Stein will arrest her?

Edit: The Scoobies will probably be held as material witnesses. As for Buffy's fate? If she's lucky, she might wind up serving time under house arrest. The only time that she would be allowed out would be at night when she patrolled.
Comments from author:
That's in interesting idea which hadn't occurred to me before you mentioned it. ;-)

I'll have to see what my muse thinks about it.

Response to your edit: For that to happen, you'd need a competent police force to investigate, take witness statements and actually document that a crime had occurred, as opposed to his injuries happening during the same 'gas explosion' which destroyed the high school and killed the Mayor, Snyder and other innocent bystanders. And the Sunnydale PD most definitely ain't that.

Since Xander doesn't live in Sunnydale any longer and there is argument for reasonable doubt that a crime actually occurred, I can't see the LAPD even paying attention to any requests Stein might possibly file with them to deliver Xander as a material witness to answer questions.

A halfway decent lawyer would get any charges files against the Scoobies dismissed very quickly, absent Xander actually filing a criminal complaint against Buffy, and I just don't see that happening, since he's moved on with his life and he's more concerned with keeping Michelle as safe as a Slayer can be.

At this point in time, Xander has moved past what happened at Graduation, and he's enjoying the life new he's established for himself. The Scoobies are a bad memory from his past, and he's made it quite plain he's not the least bit interested in even thinking about them unless an apocalypse is involved.

Review of chapter "Chapter Eight" from MrPowell
Review:
A very interesting, if rather depressing tale. I'm generally not a fan of this genre, but you've done good work here. It would be nice to see Xander reconcile with Buffy, Willow and Cordy, but even if you have that happen, it will be quite a bit of time before it can occur believably. Loved the part where Wesley took down Anya.
Looking forward to more of this.
Comments from author:
Well, considering the initial premise, things would have to be depressing, wouldn't you agree?

Although, unlike Joss, I don't delight in screwing the character over incessantly, just for kicks, so I wouldn't say a future reconciliation is impossible.

Review:
That throwaway mention of Tara gave me a bit of a chill, especially since we know exactly what happened to her and what she's probably going through right now. So if you could just have Wes swing through and pick her up on the way back, that'd be cool, thanks.

*Oddly enough, I have pneumonia and am on so many medication I have no memory of leaving this review.
Comments from author:
Unfortunately for the woman in question, Wes has no idea who she might be, or where she lives, and since he is more concerned with bringing Anya/Anyanka back to Sunnydale, he would have no interest in doing so, even if he did know. ;-(

Like the majority of Joss' universes, bad things happen quite frequently to good people, and this appears to be just another incident of this happening. Had Xander met Tara while she attended UC Sunnydale, things might have turned out differently, but he didn't, and they didn't.

I'll give this some more thought and see if I can come up with a plausible reason for things to have happened differently.

By the way, i forgot to say, i can imagine if xander agree to team with buffy, he would tell angel something like, i agree to work with them, but i wont be civil to them or, i wont start anything but if they do, all bets are off
Comments from author:
I think that that attitude has already been recognized as the default response to anything the Sunnydale crowd might say. ;-)

Review:
I am happy to see a new chapter from this story, thank you for this latest addition, its amongs my favorite, i also reread it so i could refresh my memories for this chapters

I particularly look forward to see xander group having to team up with buffy, i can imagine the sparkle from xander

He might not actively seek revenge but i guess by what i am reading, i would guess that he would wait for her to step what he would see as out of line and act on it, and he probaly secretly prepared himself for that eventualily and considering that buffy didn fougth for 4 years, her slayer power are somewhat cancelled by her skill eroded from disuse

As i read in another xander centric fic from neolong, skill beat strenght everytime

i can also easily see him clash verbally with buffy to shown who is in charge

Another think, buffy, williw and cordelia keep hearing how dangerous and violent xander is in combat, but hearing it, and actually seeing it are different thing, i look forward to see their reaction if they witness him fight with this violence

As i recently reread this fic, when i read about xander and spike fight, it made me think of a movie i recently saw. Fast five, a scene where dwayne johnson and vince diesel pounded each other like furious demons

Once again, thanks for this fanfic
Comments from author:
I know exactly what Xander's attitude towards and reactions involving the girls are going to be, and since he's already made his feelings regarding them known, no one is going to be taken by surprise in the least.

As far as Buffy and her willingness to follow directions/orders is concerned, all he'll really have to do is point out that, unlike her and her companions, *he* and the others have been in the proverbial trenches, fighting demons on a nightly basis, and not on vacation, ignoring the real world around them. That gives his group the most experience and the best knowledge base available when it comes to knowing what to do about their typical opponents, which means that the newcomers should just sit back, shut up, and do what they're told to do, when they're told to do it.

And yes, actually seeing exactly how brutal and unforgiving Xander is in actual combat is going to be an eye-opening experience for all of the girls.

Review:
Good to see a new chapter, this is a favorite of mine. Not sure whether there will be a reconciliation for the former scooby gang, or just a 'we will work together for this threat, and then never see each other again'. It's all too easy to understand Xander's justifiable anger. He isn't looking for any sort of revenge, and I wonder what his reaction would be to an apology.
Hope to see more soon.
Comments from author:
The relationships among all of the former Scooby Gang members are complex and very delicately balanced at the moment, and I'll be addressing those issues in the next few chapters.

Wesley dragging Anya back to Sunnydale is going to throw a couple major wrenches into the proverbial gears, too. ;-)

Review:
Sounds like Xander & Co. are going to be on the Hellmouth even sooner than Angel thinks; the orbs are probably a stepping stone for Andrew and Warren, since they were/seem to still be heavily into "The Convoluted And Detailed Super Secret Evil Plan' so dearly loved by megalomaniacs and Super Villains everywhere...

I admit that with the new chapter, I went back and re read the entire series to date, and feel that Joyce is more correct than even she fears except one tiny detail: Xander won't be forgiving /anyone/ - Hell, I'm really surprised he tolerates Oz, to be frank, as he can be seen as just as guilty as the girls were.

And Wesley, that sly devil, tracking down, conning, then capturing Anya?! Well doe! The facts he found out detailing what changes were made, and the reason(s) he founds out of why she did it aren't going to please anyone once they get to the Fang Gang. There's probably a ritual or something that'll give them a chance to re do the events after the Ascension Ass Kicking, but will Xander be willing to let them try it? On the one hand, they /might/ can save Faith and the others killed as a result; on the other, his present Slayer was slated to die 2 years ago - will he be able to risk not preventing that?

/Personally/.... I'd like to see some sort of Terminator-type time travel by Xander, keeping his Altered Reality memories and abilities, to prevent the Anya situation simply by killing the hag. Grab Past!Xander (or P.X.) for training and as an aide for stealing Faith before the Watchers get the "retirement" idea on their own; set out away from the Hellmouth - the Girls were marginalizing him for about a year by this point, there won't be much regret on P.X. in doing that. Road Trip!!!

OK, I really have /no/ idea what happens next, but I bet it'll be painful for a bunch of people...
Comments from author:
Yeah, you'd think that Xander would know better than to taunt Murphy like that, wouldn't you? ;-)

As far as Oz is concerned, he and Xander were never that close as friends, especially after the Fluke incident. When you combine that with the fact that Oz wasn't even around when Buffy attacked and hospitalized him, Xander has no reason to hold Oz to anywhere near the same standards he's using for all three of the girls.

And at this point in time, all the Fang Gang knows for certain is that *something* happened several years ago to alter Xander's destiny, which in turn altered Michelle's destiny, so that she didn't die. They have no idea what event or events actually happened, and only very vague suspicions about what sort of artifact might have been involved to cause whatever it was which happened. Wesley has been trying to trace the only artifact he had any knowledge of from that time period, to see if it could have been involved, and that is what has led him back to Anya.

They have no reason to even consider that time travel might be involved, and Xander has every reason NOT to try to mess around with anything like that, since he would be more concerned it could adversely affect Michelle's destiny and possibly put her back in line to die young.

I will say that vengeance is going to be having a significant effect on quite a few of the Scooby Gang's and Fang Gang's fates by the time the story finishes up.

Review:
Sweet, glad to see another chapter. Really enjoy this series. One of the few 'new' empowerment Xander stories to have happened in a way that hasn't been done before. And the fact that he still holds a grudge, which is understandable.

Extreme violence in the future, you say? Hmm....well, which Warren there its believeable. Guy was a major creep. One of the honestly evil 'humans' to have been on Btvs. Can't wait to read more.

Thank you. ;-)

And yes, there will be some scenes of rather graphic violence in several upcoming chapters.
