Review of chapter "Just Another Day" from rhiannon
Review:
This is a REALLY good series you've got going here. I love any mini-jack stories, but yours is definitely one of the better ones. keep it up! i'd really like to see Daniel come to the school maybe, or for the scoobies to find out that jack is actually middle-aged. good job!

I loved this one too! Any reason why you didn't put it as chapter 3 in "Welcome..."? I'm just dying for people to start to notice how un-ordinary Jack really is. Well, I guess it is starting to happen: there was the "gay' question, and Jack being sent to Xander after taking someone down for sneaking up on him.

I thought it was interesting that Spike referred to Jack's sparring skill as, "professional". I also like how Jack still can't handle the history and "geek" classes. I look forward to more.

I like how Jack's humor shines through. I'm still interested in where this might go, but I think it's a little weird how Xander describes himself. It sits a little off somehow ... too honest, maybe? Don't know how to word what I mean ... if I figure it out, I'll get back to the author on that.

Review:
I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of Jack's normal day at the KWS, and I'd love to see further sequels, if the spirit moves you to write them.

Thanks for giving Clone!Jack and the Scoobies something interesting and worthwhile to do with their time, and for a glimpse of the difficulties that might be encountered when you add a majority Slayer student body to the normal stresses and hierarchies of high school. I particularly appreciated your description of Faith and Spike working together to reduce over-confidence and make sure that everybody in the class started with a modicum of humility and was motivated to pay attention to their instructors.
Comments from author:
Couldn't you just picture a room full of super-powered teenage girls entering a class called Self Defense Basics rolling their eyes thinking they're beyond it? That's why Faith and Spike had to knock 'em down a peg or two. Well, that and I thought it was fun. :-)

Interesting series so far, hope you create more. It has a lot of potential considering all of Jack's knowledge as a SF Colonel, air force pilot, not to mention what he knows through the SGC. Wonder whats going to happen when he starts doing strange things like translating Egyptian, not to mention Goa'uld, which would probably be missidentified as a demonic language. Flying an airplane in an emergency situation. I think Spike already figured out something with the "very professional" line. Jack is anything but patient or tactful, so I wouldn't expect him to be able to hide something stange is going on from Spike, Faith, Willow, Xander and Giles too long.
Comments from author:
Jack was never big on translating, but flying a plane...possibly. ;-)

Idea! Ok you know my idea that Thor picks Jack up for a talk sending the Slayer and other into the search/rescue/punish mood. So what would happen if when teh find Jack and arrive at the place eh's being hold... they're in the center of SGC and Jack is old!
Comments from author:
Definitely worth considering!

I'm really glad you're continuing on with this story. I love the new Slayers and the way they interact. You also do a great job with the Scoobies- we barely see them, yet you capture their characters perfectly when we do. I'm hoping for a scene where Jack finally has to come clean about who he really is. Can't wait for more!
Comments from author:
I'm glad you like my slayers. I know I do, but it could've just been me since their my creations. I'm thinking of doing an installment at some point from Scoobies point of view. Jack isn't going just spill right away - trust has to be earned.

Nice addition to your series. I can see Jack taking the same philosophy as Xander when it comes to protecting "his" girls. The two play well off of each other. Looking forward to seeing who, if anyone, finds out about Jack's past (or lack there of). Also glad to see him keep in touch with Daniel. Since Daniel located the school, does he have an inside scoop into things that go bump in the night?

One suggestion, since you have a few small stories all connected together, you might consider adding a series indicy (spelling?) on the site and keep links on it in order of the story. That way I can add the indicy to my favorites page since I don't have room to add all the individual stories...
Comments from author:
I've always thought Jack and Xander were very similar in many ways. I'm glad you like their interactions. I'll see if I can figure out how to do the index. Wish me luck! :-)

Hi again,
Thank you so much for continuing this series. I liked the bit about Willow being able to get Xander and Buffy thru HS then she can get Jack thru too. Just be careful here. I know the series played down his intelligence, but the man was/is not stupid by any stretch of the imagination. To get to colonel Jack has to have at least one Masters and to be Special Ops he speaks at least three languages (including English). I could see where Mini!Jack wouldn't have allot of appreciation or interest in some of his subjects, particularly since allot of it is bound to be old hat to him. I loved the conversation between Jack and Xander and how that tied into Jack and Daniel's conversation. That was really sweet to see. The bit with Spike and Faith (fight dirty) was great. It looks like you are going to give Jack's 'girls' hints as to who he really is, looking forward to that conversation. Also can't wait to see Jack out on patrol with his girls. I can see Jack wanting to be able to talk to his girls on patrol even when they can't speak. Can't you just see Jack teaching this bunch military hand signals? (Heck he could teach them the signs just to be able to communicate while pulling pranks...?)

Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading more of your work.
Comments from author:
I completely agree that Jack isn't stupid by any stretch of the imagination. Remember, Willow said it wasn't that he wasn't doing well in the classes but that he wasn't doing MUCH in the less interesting (in Jack's opinion) classes. Lack of participation and failure to do assignments can lead to lower grades, which Willow is trying to nip in the bud. I'm glad you liked the rest of it. :-) I like the idea of Jack teaching the girls Special Forces hand signals just so they could more effectively pull pranks!

I really like this series. I think the characters are well written, not just the BTVS characters, but the original slayers, Mini Jack and now Daniel. I would love to see some more interaction there between Jack and Daniel. And will the BTVS gang ever find out about Jack's past? Will it come back to haunt them? Or will Jack, the slayers run into SG1? So many possibilities, which is why I hope this is not the last installment of this series.
Comments from author:
Thank you. I'm glad you like the new slayers and my portrayals of the other characters. I'm still figuring out where, if anywhere, I want this to go. :-)

I can't believe you named one of the teachers "Kuntzler". Why would anyone with that surname voluntarily spend time with school children?
Comments from author:
Believe it or not, I actually had a HS teacher named Kuntzler. He wasn't the type you made fun of. :-)

That was deeply satisfying. Although poor Jack isn't going to laid for at least a decade. Maybe he can find a professional?
Comments from author:
If I'd have been drinking something when I read your review I'd've done a spit take. Very funny! As for poor Jack not getting any for a decade, NO WAY! Are you seriously telling me there are no women that would want a young hottie that appreciates a woman versus a girl. Remember he's got improved vitality AND experience. ; )
