"be another reason for Xander"
Not sure how this is /another/ reason as I've always thought that Angels looks/'selfconfidence'/arrogance -jock-like behaviour reminding Xander of the guys that kept beating him up, was one of the main reasons from the start that Xander had of disliking Angel.
Aside of the being evil and getting-away-with-it, and getting the attention of all the girls he liked (Buffy, Faith, Cordelia) -which again fits with and strengthens aforementioned atitude. (Spike fits this too, as selfconfidence is a vampire-habit: IE Jesse)

But nice to see it explained in a fic.

Not sure how to read the spell-thing, as the fluking started in homecoming, and I thought Xander stopped Willow before the spell. (which was de-lusting to begin with). - As much as it would have given Xander's behaviour an explenation, I'm affraid we'll ahve to go without.
