This is such a cool fic! The only way to improve it is to turn it into a full story. Now I know that Graham wouldn't leave his group, but what if they screwed up again (Adam-style) and needed to be disbanded permanently? I'm not suggesting the grunts had anything to do with the screw up, just that they were hurt through guilt by association.

The reason I read this was you used Graham and not Riley. Just thought I'd tell you that.
Comments from author:
Thanks. I was always a bit leery of Riley, so I don't like to use him in stories unless I have to.

Also, there are so many possibilities with Graham, that I just can't *not* use him. :)

Excellent. Sounds like my rules for Buffy... (the one's I've decided she has)

One: Don't die (she did say that.)
Two: No one's expendable. (she didn't but she would've now there's all those other slayers)

I like your Graham.

I like your attitude. I like your story. A lot.

Blue.
Comments from author:
Thanks. :)

I think Graham would do amazingly well at the SGC, if you could ever pry him away from his special ops team. :)

A nice "What if?" story featuring the question: "What if Jack and Graham met while trapped at the same DC party?"

Definitely a story to spark some possible crossovers.

Bug the author to make a sequel!!!

Thank you. :)

Very nice fic. And it starred Graham. There's not many good Graham fics out there. I love how you managed to capture his character. If you do more of this kind of fics, I'll really really appreciate it.
Comments from author:
Hmmm, haven't thought of doing a Graham fic in awhile, but we'll see what happens.
Glad you liked it. :)

I just re-read this and don't believe I've forgotten to leave you feedback for this wonderful ficlet. You've got Jack's character dead on the money, and Graham's as well. Especially regarding their respective views on the euphemism "Acceptable Losses". Nicely done!

One bit of concrit: A General's stars are always silver. The only gold officer's rank insignia are a Second Lieutenant's bar (Ensign in the Navy or Coast Guard) and a Major's oak leaves (Lieutenant Commander in the Navy or Coast Guard).

I really hope you're able to post the other two stories. I liked Graham in BtVS and think he would be a perfect fit in the Gateverse. As for the itty bit of a correction, no problem. It's plenty easy to make an error of that nature and I know I prefer someone to speak up if they find an error of mine.
Comments from author:
I'm glad you liked the story - it was my third attempt to insinuate Graham into the Stargate universe. (The first two never made it off of paper...or to completion.)

As for the stars....I totally hadn't realized I'd written that. I *have* actually done research into the US military ranking structure and the associated insignia - but at times like this it doesn't show, apparently. But it's fixed now. Thanks. :)

Love it! You write both Graham and O'Neill beautifully, and I can totally believe their having similar reactions to such a time-wasting affair, or to the idea of so-called "acceptable losses" caused by a superior's ignorance or vanity.

Nicely done. I love that you used Graham instead of Riley. And I could so easily see this scenario playing out in my head. Very well done.
Comments from author:
Thank you very much.
I think there's more potential with Graham, simply because he didn't get a lot of screen time - there's so much more you can add to that type of character. It's why I like them so much.

Wonderful! It's a perfect one-shot. Yet....I would love to see a sequel!
Comments from author:
There may be a sequel, but don't hold your breath.....I have unfinished fics that are demanding my attention. (Also, I don't really have any ideas for a sequel.)
Thanks for R-&-R-ing (Reading and reviewing).

Review of chapter "Networking" from kaleecat
Review:
Very nicely done. I was intrigued by Graham, more so than Forest, and rather wished we had seen more of him. Good thing there is fanfic to fix such errors.
You captured Jack O'Neill's typical manner, way of speaking and opinions perfectly right down to the quick exit on spying that horrible ex-VP (Kinsey, boo hiss). This is quite complete in itself, short and saying a lot about Graham, about silly shindigs and incidentally a bit about Graham's own boss. Yet I would love to see it expanded either through Graham deciding for some reason to try the SGC or him encountering O'Neill again.

Thanks for sharing.
Comments from author:
I've thought about a sequel, but don't really have many ideas. Maybe someday...but I have another story that's demanding to be finished after languishing for almost 2 years.
Glad you liked it. Thanks.

I enjoyed that. I liked the description of Graham as the silent type that is good to have at your back, but not at a party. The conversation with O'Neill was good too.
Comments from author:
Thanks....Graham has never struck me as the small-talk type. I can so see him trying to become one with the wall at this type of affair. Glad you liked it.
