This chapter is the best. It's made of win and to be honest had me tearing up there at the end. Seriously, it's always nice to read a story that shows John's more sentimental side. I do have a question though- did Sam make cards while he was gone or did he just stick with the money? I can totally see him getting some freshman to take the card over to John when he was 'covertly' watching Sam. As if Sam didn't know they were checking up on him!
Comments from author:
This came to me when me and my kids were out shopping for my husband's gift. I hadn't thought about it, but it wouldn't surprise me either if he had somehow managed to slip John a card someway. On the other hand, with his temper I could see him missing the first one and feeling really guilty about for years.

This was not only a great crossover, but a wonderful Father's Day story. Loved it!
Comments from author:
Thank you. This was written while I was shopping for my husband's father's day present last year. I have no idea what the muses have planned for this year, but I think Dean may be the one to get a short.
I can't tell you how much I just loved this. Maybe someday you'll do a nice Christmas one? You know me, I love the sappy, so can you make it very John/Buffy romantic?
Thanks for the Dawn Winchester verse. I've never liked Dawn, but I do like her in you stories.
Comments from author:
Perhaps. That's the best I can tell you. I write off the top of my head, pure inspiration from the muse. If I actually try to write a story the other way (write out a outline, etc) it never works and I eventually give up. I'm so glad that people like this verse. It was my very first set of completed stories. It was also the very first posted stories, so I really wasn't prepared for the outpouring of 'this is good'!

My tears must already be jerks, since they refused to be jerked. That, or I'm dehydrated and didn't have any moisture to spare. :) However, it was a very sweet side-story and I enjoyed it. Keep this wonderful universe going!

I absolutely died. Like... I'm crying... That's how much this fic effected me. I love families that love each other!!!
Comments from author:
I surprised myself by crying too. It wasn't supposed to go that way! I guess the muse had other ideas. This may be a family that can't say it to each other's faces, but there is no doubt that they love each other.

this was really sweet. the practical gift idea is great... better than ties and shirts. :)
Comments from author:
I just can't see any of those three giving impractical gifts, unless it is something that someone else really wants and even then that person would probably need to beat it over their heads. :)
