Review of chapter "An Additional Concern" from Selonianth
Review:
Only in the first movie is she Sha'uri, just for the record. Her name is put down and said as Sha're in the show.

Other than that nitpicking this is good.
Comments from author:
That was actually a deliberate choice on my part. Since there are two version of canon, I picked the one that pleased me more. =) Glad you're liking my stories.

Cool. Hopefully he *can* go offworld without triggering a giant monster.

Well-written and he would be a great asset to the team :)

Wonderfully done. If anybody would know and believe in second chances it would be Daniel.

I've never been a Godzilla fan, but now I have to rent that movie just to check out the Doc. Also, I love the way you write Daniel here! I really miss him and wish the show's writers would let Daniel be an anthropologist again as well as a soldier.

Thanks for sharing this! :-)

Edited for reply: *sigh* Yeah, I know exactly what you mean about O'Neill. Even RDA isn't O'Neill anymore, but I think that was more the writing of the episodes he was in this season. It was a very bad idea to downplay Daniel's scientific humanist aspects and try to make him a quasi Jack clone (we already have one of those, whom the show's writers seem to have completely forgotten, unfortunately). Hrmph. :-( Pardon the rant, but it probably gives you some idea of how much I love your writing, and that of some others here, and exactly why.
Comments from author:
I know what you mean about letting Daniel be an anthropologist; in the last couple of seasons, he's been sort of taking over the role left open by Jack. Mitchell has his own charm, but he's no O'Neill, you know?

The American Godzilla movie is total and complete cheese, but it has Matthew Broderick playing the scientist and Jean Reno as a French secret agent he runs into. Between the two of them and the popcorn action, the movie's definitely worth watching at least once. =)

I only caught the remake of "Godzilla" on TV once, a long time ago, but I really enjoyed the "mirror" that this other scientist's situation provided for Daniel, for where he'd been and what the Stargate program had meant to him. Nice work.

Oooh, fun! Nick Tatopoulos was an interesting character in the movie, and even more so in the subsequent 'Godzilla: The Animated Series'.

One of my favorite fanfic authors goes by the handle of 'Vathara'. Vathara writes a megacrossover (the 'Urban Legends') series that includes Stargate and Godzilla crossovers. You may want to look Vathara up on fanfiction.net, especially the stories 'Innocent Bystander' and 'Site Omega: Aftermath'.

I am very fond of your characterization of General Hammond, Daniel and Jack. It was very easy to envision the conversation as portrayed. I hope that you continue to play with this idea! I look forward to it.
Comments from author:
I actually found Vathara a week ago-- though thanks for the rec, if I hadn't already read all those stories I'd be in heaven reading them now. =)

That was the reason I re-watched Godzilla in the first place, actually. I've never seen any of the animated series, and wouldn't presume to try using the plots/characterization developed there without getting my hands on some episodes, but Vathara's stories made me fond enough of Nick to give the movie another chance, and afterward I thought, "Hey, I bet Daniel would really get along well with this guy..." =)

Thanks for your comments. I'm never sure if/when any of my particular stories will be continued-- much depends on the Muse, but I do like this idea, so more is likely at some point.

I like this story because I think that biologists are totally under-rated in Stargate (and in general - go Biology! - especially that episode last season with those bugs that didn't follow the law of "Conservation of Mass and Energy"). It'd be neat to see how a biologist in the league of Jackson and Carter's genius would influence the series ... what kinds of things would they be able to figure out if they actually learned about the plants/animals/symbionts/parasites of all the planets? Not just "medicinal," but ... anyway, that's a whole dissertation.

Point: I like the story, and I wouldn't mind seeing a story that added an aspect to SG-1 from a biologists point-of-view (which is a broad term, since there are many fields of biology).
