Review of chapter "Vampires and Vacations" from Lydia
Review:
Overall it was a interesting story and fairly good, but I think Xander insistence on no guns is foolish, Buffy is the one with some sort of anti-gun paranoia, Darla proved that guns were fairly good at slowing down vampires when she emptied one into Angel at one point, guns work perfectly fine for softening up a vampire, heck considering they had like 3 people shooting the vamp it should have slowed it down alot more than it did, vampires might regenerate but a clip being emptied in his brain would have dazed him pretty much for at least a few seconds, so I do think the whole cemetery scene was... unsatisfactory, only there to try to convince us that guns wouldn't do anything when they would actually do and that the military was supposedly useless, which I highly doubt is the case.

The Initiative was badly ran and worked on things other than merely vampires, so thats why they mostly got butchered, but a SG team with P90s, pistols, incendiary bullets and incendiary grenades would be able to wipe out vampires just as effectively, if not more than the Scoobies, a couple incendiary grenades in a nest and the nest is gone, so yea this story underplayed massively what the military should be able to actually achieve, also the Initiative for all its bad organization WAS able to capture a fair number of demons, so it prove that the military WAS able to deal with the supernatural to some level, not perfectly, sure when the demons got released from captivity they wiped out the Initiative mostly, but still it prove that things wouldn't be as bad as expected.

Heck Xander shouldn't have complained as much as he seem to about what the military could achieve because this was before he dealt with the Initiative and saw the entire group being wiped out, so he shouldn't yet expect the military to be completely useless, maybe the whole Initiative thing would have soured him to the military but he shouldn't be at that point at this moment in time.

I've read two of your stories so far and they're FANTASTIC!! You do Xander proud and keep everyone perfectly in character. I wish I could see it on screen....the part where Xander rolled down the gate ramp and waited until all the action was over to say "Ow" had me laughing out loud! Just so perfectly Xander in understatement and timing. Bravo! I'm off to see what else you've got now.

Just finished reading this a few minutes ago....my god it was awesome, and funny as hell. The snark factor....*grins* with O'Neill and Xander there we need a new snark scale.

Great story!!!!

Review of chapter "Conversations with Non-Dead People" from XinnLagjin
Review:
I love this story, but every time I read Carter saying that she's bothered by Xander not being bother all I wanted him to say was "Sorry to break it to ya major but bitches like that are a dime a dozen back home, and I always had the dubious honor of attracting the moderately to severe psychotic ones. And despite what you think, it doesn't need to be a snake head to be a mass murdering ego maniac, we have plenty of those home grown."
Comments from author:
:) Seriously. He wished he could, too. The stories he could tell... but then there's the belief factor. She's having enough trouble with vampires and he doesn't even know that at the start of the conversation. It's one of those things where I just couldn't see him opening up like that to a total stranger - add in the hostility and well, I'm sure you see the logic.
Thanks for reviewing.

Interesting idea, and I love how Xander did not imediatly spill all his guts to the SGC like so many fics do. I especialy love how in the end Xander said No, and his reason for saying so makes a lot of sense. While him and the slayers might be a little better than average humans and be able to help out the SGC a little more than a normal recruit the same can not be applied the other way normal recruits could not do the Scooby Gang's job.

Not to mention the obvious danger of a Gou'ald taking a slayer or magic using host an exposure many Stargate/Buffy fics seem to forget about. Assuming it can be done and the bonus's multiple you'd have a stronger faster Gou'ald that heals even more than normal, not worth the risk of a grunt who's a better fighter.

So I read this story and it's prequel like a year ago and still think it would be awesome if you continued the series. Like having Xander join ROTC and possibly calling in back up when the Initiative screws things up. And ya know, somehow pinning it all on Senator Kinsey. *looks innocent* And then maybe Buffy, Willow, and Giles wouldn't try to sideline him so much. ^^

But yeah, love your work, all three stories in this series are awesome.

Review:
You know a sequel to this one wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe have it set during one of the time phases: Season 4 with the Intiative, Season 5 with Glory, or Post-Season 7 After Sunnydale Collapses. I also wouldn't mind seeing Faith make a comeback sooner and with Xander understanding the darkness in killing somebody he could perhaps relate to her better in that way.

All in all, really good and I look forward to seeing what you do with Rising Pt. 1.

I couldn't see him leaving either. What use is keeping snakes off the earth if demons eat all the people?
