Review of chapter "Go Tell the Spartans." from maxthehobbit
Review:
Another good story written several years ago. I was confused at first till I finally realized what was going on. Very imaginative story sort of connected with the Seattle Slayers. I still think the Willow and Kennedy series are two of the best series on the Internet. I like that they contain adventure and have many funny parts as well, too bad they had to come to an end. This story like most of the others portray Willow, Kennedy and the baby slayers as heroes, makes for really good stories.
Comments from author:
You do? Nice of you to say so. Yep this was supposed to be a sort of 'Seattle Slayers' AU.

As with a lot of my stories this was inspired by hearing a certain phrase or song.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers,
D.

Review:
I'm sorry that you feel that nobody got your joke. The problem is, you inserted it when people expect an A/N, and they expect the author, however enlightened he is from being stoned and seeing another reality, to be writing from -this- reality. If you'd had your narrator do it, everyone would have caught on.

Separately, wouldn't Willow have shown up on that show? Even if it had Riff Regan as her? (which might indeed have been why it was cancelled after two seasons)
Comments from author:
Thanks for reading.

To be honest this story was written so long ago now that I don't know what I was trying to do anymore.

Cheers,
D

Review:
Just saw this as a rec on the front page, must have missed it when first published. That's a sad fate - especially not knowing they're in the wrong universe, and that their message will never get home. Very moving.

I wasn't confused by the Charisma Carpenter thing, find it difficult to understand why anyone would be, considering they've just said it's an alternate universe and Kowalski died very early on in Stargate continuity.
Comments from author:
Thanks for reading this old fic of mine.

Checking through the story before replying to your Review I was surprised to see how many recs this one had got.

To be honest there's a few bits of this story, near the end, that make me cringe a little these days! Actually there's a few stories from my early years on TTH that I've seriously considered deleting, but I've always stayed my hand.

Yeah, the bit at the end about the alternate universe background, I never really understood how people could get confused about that, oh well, it takes all sorts.

Cheers,
D.

Charisma Carpenter Played Cordy, NOT Willow.
Comments from author:
Read the other reviews...it was a joke. A way of showing the story took place in an alternate reality.

Review:
Interesting little one-shot, though I wonder how the Slayers had managed to get into this reality. What really got me about the difference with this reality over the 'Prime' SG1 reality is that Siler is a Marine which got me go huh, too used to see him being Siler we all know and love.

Anyways a great story and I really wish that Buffy does find out what happens to her Slayers eventually.
Comments from author:
Sergeant Siler a Marine? Did I write that? Honestly its so long ago that I can't remember without reading the story again. I remember the basic outline though. If I wrote it today I'd have made some slight changes to the end but it would still be the same basic story.

Glad you enjoyed reading it.

Cheers,
D.

Review:
I have just been rereading this fine story, and realized that the memorial inscription implies that this particular SG1 'verse has a major religion with a Goddess. Also, though it is natural to assume that 'Royal American Flying Corps' implies set in a universe where the USA is still part of the British Empire or Commonwealth, that other options are possible, though this most probable extrapolation and no doubt the intended one.
I am also giving this story a Recommendation.
Comments from author:
Considering this was a 'throw away' one shot that I wrote over a couple of days at work when I had nothing better to do, its certainly proved popular! More so than I'd ever imagined. Of course now I wouldn't have written it quite the way I did but, hey, styles change, we grow and learn.

However, I'm still pretty proud of this story, so, thanks for reading and recommending it and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Many thanks,
Dave.

What a sad day,
When warriors dead lay.
Far from their reality,
Away from their family.
Put to eternal rest,
With Earth`s best.

Review:
Nice. Bitter-sweet ending, but nice none the less. Worst part was that their "last stand" seemed so pointless - add in that they were protecting the locals (or did I miss something?), give it a bit of meaning... Not necessarily, but it would be nice.
Comments from author:
Thank-you for reading one of my old stories.

OOOPS! If you've just read my previous reply you're probably wondering what I'm rambling on about! Sorry got the stories mixed up!

Sometimes, other than doing something simply for the 'honour', death is 'meaningless'.

Charisma Carpenter played Cordelia Chase, not Willow. Alyson Hannigan played Willow. You have your facts mixed up.
Comments from author:
In you're reality maybe, have a read of the other reviews. It was part of the story!

Thanks anyway for reading.

Review:
Have you ever considered expanding this? Making it more into a series instead of a one-shot?
Comments from author:
Thank-you for reviewing.

To be honest, no...This was always supposed to be a one-shot, I've also got a lot of other projects on the go so even if I wanted to I don't think I could find the time.

Thank-you again for reviewing, I'm quite proud of this story and its one of personal favs. Its nice when people take the time to read ones older fics.

Cheers,
DaveT.

It would be nice to know, that Buffy turned up to claim their remains.
Who played Giles? Tom Lenk?
Comments from author:
At some point in the dim and distant future I MAY write that story, but don't hold y'breath!
