Review of chapter "You Can't Keep a Good Soldier Down" from purrfus
Review:
I really like the dump them in the deep end to see if they sink or swim situation. Of course with Logan and Piotr I guess sink is probably a given. They all agreed, but what were they doing in that truck in the first place?

Review:
I adore the fact that it's the X-Men's similarity to SG1's way of making jokes in the face of severe danger that is making Daniel think he ought to worry. So glad you're continuing with this fic!
Comments from author:
I'm more worried that it was Pete who cracked the joke. He's the Teal'c of SG-X. *grins.* Besides, it's just Logan. How can that be severe danger?

I wonder what kind of trouble Logan is going to run into. I like how Kitty said that if Logan ran into something he couldn't handle, he would lead it back to the team :)
Comments from author:
Yes, but think about how much he can handle without backup. *EG*

Oh yeah, that's something I struggled with when I started adding people like Rogue to my fic. While the catchphrases and such should remain the same, most people who would know something was wrong already know that Peter/Piotr and Kurt speak with an accent, so it's not really worth mauling your dialogue just to add flavor. Those who know will take it as a given that they speak with an accent, and those that don't won't really care anyways. :)

Review of chapter "Blast From the Past" from Valkyrie
Review:
This is interesting. Where's it set? Comic book 'verse? Movie? There were a bunch of references I didn't follow, for example, one about Kitty not being in control of her body...
Comments from author:
Mostly based on comic 'verse, though definately influenced by the movie. Kitty's probably the one who has the most character evolution compared to the others' movie versions, since current comicverse Kitty has gone through a lot of challenges, including being possessed, which was the control comment. Besides, how could I resist having the potential for Lockheed to show up at some point and maybe act as a substitute for the UAV. He'd be better able to avoid being shot down by the first Jaffa he meets.

I'm interested to see where this is going. I think I've seen one or two other X/SG crossovers, and they've been more with the X-Men dealing with an on-planet Goa'uld. Usually in a mutant host. This is different, which is a plus, and you seem to have a good grasp of the characters.

Keep on writing. :)
Comments from author:
The idea of a mutant host has occurred to me, and I won't guarantee it won't come up, but it made sense that any demonstrated superhuman abilities would garner goa'uld attention, and a group consisting of the creme de la creme of sprecial forces would think of that, too, when selecting an off-world team. Besides, I'd hate to think what would happen if our favorite X-goddess got taken host, for example.

I'm glad the characters are coming across well, because I've been having problems with some fo the voices, especially the accents of Kurt and Peter.

Review:
Nice update. I think the good doctor needs to be reminded that she in not there to understand how their abilities work but just to get a baseline to know what is "normal" for them so that if they are injured she has something to compare to so she can admister aid. Logan has had no memory of part of his past for several years doesn't she think that if he had a head injury they would have known that and done something about it? Sorry don't mean to rant it just irks me the way some people react to things that can't be explained by science or that is different then what they consider normal. I mean look how Sam reacted to Colosass (sp?) and to the others abilities. It was almost like she turned into a "mad scientist" ... they are people just like her they are just different and since when was is bad to be different. Plus after meeting people like the Nox what is the big deal about mutents and being different.... she is going to run into some people one day that are going to think of her as different and maybe want to "study" her. And I don't think the different people like to be talked about like they were some sort of "creature to be studied" especially when they are standing right there. .... ok done babbling *sorry* this is a great story i haven't read a SG/X-men crossaver before thx for posting

oh yeah it should also be interesting to see where Jack had seen Logan before and what he can tell him about Logan's past.
Comments from author:
Sam was more interested in what the implications of such a power are. She's a theoretical physicist, which means she wants to know how it works, not so much why. The matter conversion that Colossus does is in violation of most commonly accepted rules of physics, because you can't just create mass from nowhere, and yet he doubles in mass when in steel body. It's not a lack of belief, more of a need to justify what her empirical data is telling her. She does the same thing about almost any anomaly, the X-men just happen to be human.

Review of chapter "Misgivings" from manic
Review:
Too bad I don't know more about Kitty and Peter. Just as Jack, I wonder they, especially Logan, defer to her. Thanks for the update.
Comments from author:
Like any team that's worked together long enough, the reins of leadership tend to pass pretty easily between these four. None of them are the shining pillar of leadership Cyclops is, but they have their strengths and weaknesses. Kitty is the PR gal, among her other talents. She just has a natural charisma that makes it easier for her to smooth things over. So she ends up being the de facto leader, even though Logan's got more military experience.

As for Logan's "deference," it's more that she's one of the people he listens to and trusts. I suppose I might not have done as good a job of demonstrating the various characters and how they interrelate if they're still strangers to those not canon-junkies.
