Holland's three o'clock appointment was the kind of client who would have reduced any lesser lawyer to a puddle of nerves. Since his two o'clock, however, had been a vampire, and his two thirty had been a premenstrual Kankanath demon, Lionel Luthor, even royally pissed, seemed fairly manageable. It was all about context. ~ LOL. Read this fic again. Superb. Wolfram and Hart does redefine at a much higher level the meaning of stressful situations for its employees. Remembering one of the W&H people (was it Lilah? Not sure.) bemoaning not having had a child because one would be handy as a sacrifice.

Lionel Luthor: "You can't do this." Holland Manners: "Mr Luthor, Wolfram and Hart has no intention of doing this." ~ Manners' words would be a lot more considerate if the 'this' they expect the fellow to do for himself were not slaying his own child. And by the way, Agamemnon paid - albeit rather later - for finally honouring that requirement, didn't he? If only Lionel had remembered that. Thanks for a great read everytime. :)
