Review of chapter "Chapter Nineteen" from Oxnate
Review:
Warning to all who read this: Make sure you are well hydrated before reading. Because you will laugh so hard and so often that you WILL spit your drink all over your monitor.

There are so many jokes packed into this small story that I'm sure I must have missed half of them.

LOL's, groans, spit takes, and other assorted merriment are to be had here.

Rec will be coming after the first of the month.

Have you thought of doing an epilogue to this? Just so more people could read and love it as well?
Comments from author:
Thank you very much! No, I have no plans for an epilogue.

I don't suppose you have the rest of this song written?

“No one knows what it’s like
To be the Shogun
Sometimes it’s no fun
Behind stone walls…”
Comments from author:
Sorry, no. I only wrote that one section.

Pretty funny already. Just wanted to let you know that the link in chapter 2 is broken.
Comments from author:
Thank you! The site that it linked to must have gone; I've replaced it with a link to Wikipedia.

Bloody brilliant. I think I missed a few references, not being brought up on Gilbert & Sullivan, but my hat is off to you.

Thank you, Nothorse-san!

Review of chapter "Chapter Nineteen" from Looneyboyo
Review:
Having read this story, I have come to two conclusions:

1) You are clearly on drugs

2) They're bloody good ones

Seriously, that was hilarious. A very good mix of Parody and straight-ahead jokesmithery. Extra points for Olaf's appearance, though I would have liked him to live, as he is rather outrageously funny. Also forced to deduct a point for the dancing bare-as a small child who grew up reading Paddington that sort of thing is traumatic.
Comments from author:
Thank you!

Olaf lives and prospers in many of my other stories. Sorry about the dancing bare; as a fan of both Paddington and Ampata I couldn't resist crossing them, and after that the old Allan Price song made the 'dancing bare' part inevitable.

I have posted some even odder stories than this one on my LiveJournal (such as my latest, a Gladiator/Winnie the Pooh crossover) but I don't always post them here.

The long and winding road...

Well you got there in the end! Thank-you for all the laughs and maybe one day you'll do something else in a similar vain.

All the best,
DaveT.

Thank you!

I have done something else in a similar vein, or maybe even crazier; 'Savage Beauty', in which Buffy is the Prime Minister of Iceland and Spike is a Jivaro Indian head-hunter in the Brazilian rain forest. However that's been stalled for a while and I'm not going to post it here until it's finished.

Morse Code... “He signaled me with his eyes.” D'oh!

Ampata's going to be a mummy? Ha!

May they live happily :D

Welcome back!

Another fine chapter after SUCH A LONG WAIT!!!

Hoping to see another update SOON!

All the best,
DaveT.
Comments from author:
Thank you!

I can't say when the next chapter - which will probably be the conclusion, unless it ends up too long for a single chapter - will appear. I tend to flip between my WIPs depending on what mood I'm in.

Great episode, had me laughing out loud, very exciting too.

The bit about Dalton getting injured put me in mind of that old pirate song that goes...."...now he's got no legs at all, 'cause he ran a race with a canon ball!" and so on and so forth.

Good stuff.

All the best,
Dave.

Bring on the tentacles >;-)
Comments from author:
If they arrive in their full "Legend of the Overfiend" manifestation then I'll have to change the rating of the story rather drastically.

'I don't want to dye!' Briliant! And does the sailor talk like a pirate? Just recently I discovered that at this time just about everybody in Devon and Cronwall(Counties noted for their seafarers) was a pirate, or had been a pirate or was related to a pirate, or was training to be a pirate! AAAGH! Jim lad.

All the best,
Dave.
Comments from author:
Thank you! No pirate talk, I'm afraid, just seamen.

Review:
Long as you're going with Dread Pirate Wesley, (and 'As you wish') don't forget that the hunter/prince was all set to marry the princess of Guilder until a freak indoor gust of wind blew her hat off, revealing she was bald. That embarrasment and the prince's rage started the feud that led to the entire plot with Buttercup :) Bare Ampata might have an extra reason to hold onto the hat... And an extra reason to be so far from home ;)

Hey, could Olivia make a cameo? Bringing her in while Jenny's still alive might be interesting...

'Legally Dead'. Heh, serves Mr. Summers right.

Well, of course they'd know Faerun, no matter what reality they're in. Ha!

Poor Olaf, plenty of witches back at the castle...

Nope, can't think of a way Jenny or Willow could re-sole Angel through magic. Seems like documents and paperwork's the only way to go, and it's unlikely anyone's going to try.

Sorry, I can't place Dalton, did he have a part on the show? Oh, hey, thanks. :)
Comments from author:
I'm not going to go all that far with the Princess Bride analogies. Wesley/Westley, the swordfighting (and I actually have some knowledge of Renaissance fencing techniques, my description of the Agrippa style is accurate), and perhaps one or two minor one-liners to come.

Ampata's Aunt Lucy fills the niche in this story that Olivia would have occupied.

Dalton, played by Eric Saiet, was in two episodes of S2 ('What's My Line' and 'Surprise'). Spike's bookish hench-vamp who did the research and translations when Spike was seeking the ritual to cure Drusilla (debase, the beef, canoe). He was killed by The Judge for being too human.

“Well I’ll be buggered,” Chopstick cursed. “Probably with tentacles, if we don’t stop the git right quick.”

Oh, it's that sort of Japanese story...

Hilarious as ever - and nice to see Olaf finally get his come-uppance. Without raising Acathala!

Another excellent chapter. I love this story. I was a little nervous about Xander pushing the baby-cart, but as Giles so aptly illustrated with his song a couple of chapters back, you're never too old to wok and roll.
