Review of chapter "Part Seven." from maxthehobbit
Review:
I think Giles killed her because she was being used as a tool, much as the Council would have used her. This story brought back memories from 1999-2000 when about 20 Irish people came to Colorado for training. They were amazed to find out there were no roadblocks or searches. They seemed to really have no idea what freedom is. I have no idea why northern Ireland hasn't been set free, seems the right thing to do, but I'm American, not English although genealogy tells me I'm both Irish and English only two generations ago.

I liked it, a very unusual story about Giles.
Comments from author:
Well, thanks for reading this old story which I keep meaning to re-write.

This is not the place to discuss the rights and wrongs of NI, however I did find you're comment about NI being set 'Free' a little worrying.

Over the years I've had a lot of Irish friends (from Eire) and it was interesting to here their views on the history of the 'Troubles'.

Cheers,
D.

Well, Giles certainly earned his stripes didn't he. But honestly in my opinion at the piont were he shot her it seemed to me more that he was saving the little girl cause the slayer would've killed her too. Of course I could be wrong and quite frequently I am.
Comments from author:
First; you're entitled to your opinion so don't worry if you're right or wrong.

What I was trying to say was that at the end The Slayer realised that she was being manipulated by everyone and whatever she did she would continue to be manipulated. Also, by this time she has probably killed several people, and just wanted it all to end.

All the best,
Dave.

I can believe Rupert killed that girl easily. How horrible for you to have served in Northern Ireland when young.
Comments from author:
I think the Slayer let him kill her.

NI wasn't that horrible...it made you grow up quick though.

All the best,

Well in wikkipedia it said Kennedy was from a wealthy New York family who attended a boarding school in California. What made you choose Gibraltar of all places?
Comments from author:
I think Wiki is more to do with Fanon rather than Canon! Ken turns up with Giles and two potentials who have Mochney accents so one assumes she's come with them from Britain.

In my Will&Ken stories Ken's Mum&Dad were from Gibraltar (this explains Ken's looks) they move to Britain before Ken is born. Ken's Dad is something in International Banking and is very rich. He moves or gets sent to the US. At the age of twelve Ken is sent to boarding school in the UK. This explains her accent; spends term time in the UK and holidays in the US.

I explained a lot of this in the early part of 'Weirdness in Seattle'.

To my memory; and I've watched S7 from were Ken turns up onwards several times (with the sub-titles switched on) does it say where Ken comes from. So how they got this NY thing I don't know! Most explanations I've seen for Ken's home seem to point to Boston, Maine(?).

Now I'm going to check the update on your story!

All the best,
Dave T.

Review:
An interesting idea I don't think you could get up to twenty slayers though. More people are alive now true because modern medicine saves them. That's why we have such a problem with car jackers. In the old day a teenager would steal a horse fall off it and die. Now they steal a car, crash into a lamp post and have my tax dollar wasted looking after them. But slayers called in primitive countries would still die.

It bugs me somehow Kennedy and Willow's children call their mother Mum. All American expats I have ever met in Australia and New Zealand, have their children call them Mom.

Who was the sperm donor. Giles Xander? Willow did some kind of witchy spell to conceive?

I hope this is not going to be some pro IRA piece. Although hey it's your story you can make it that if you want.
Comments from author:
Not a pro-IRA story...no way.

Mum/Mom. Although it is not important to the story the Rosenberg's have been living in Britain since Anna was about 7. Also I've made Kennedy Gibraltar-British (in BtVS S7 it's implied that Kennedy is British or was living in Britain when Giles found her). So I think that I can get away with Mum for Anna.

Twenty Slayers? In 1944 the allies convinced the Germans that an entire army existed in Kent when it didn't! I think an organisation like The Watchers Council that has a mania for secrets could hide the fact of more Slayers even from their own people!

I was never happy with 'Chosen One' thing to me it didn't make sense. The figure of 20 was supposed to be an all time maximum (which I should have made clearer) I would think that there were usually 2 or 3 Slayers at most.

Sperm donors? Well Willow's Tara her father/SD was Xander. Anna...I'm not telling...yet.

All the best,
Dave.
