This was inspired by a rant about the writers putting Americanisms into the mouths of English characters. Sometimes this could be horribly jarring. In one particular case I wondered what would have happened if the English characters around the speaker had reacted with the blank incomprehension that would have been correct for the period. 'Just Not Cricket' is an attempt to answer that question, and the second story, 'Kiss Me, Deadly', deals with the subsequent events in the drastically changed Buffyverse that resulted.
When William the Bloody was being mocked at the Underwoods' party in 1880 one of the other guests made a serious faux pas that no-one picked up on. What would have happened if they had? Very major character death.
