Title: An Offer She Could Refuse
Disclaimer: Not mine.
The Doctor swung Sam Carter round by her hands making her feel giddy and light-headed.
"Just imagine," he cried. "We could travel to hundred different worlds and meet new races."
She tipped her head back and laughed at him. "I've DONE that!"
He stopped suddenly, almost causing her to fall but pulled her close, fixing her with an intense look. "We could travel through time you and I...the past and the future, ride the solar flares of your sun."
"I've done that too," she said. "And anyway, you did say I was really too old to be your Companion."
He stepped away and shrugged charmingly. "Admittedly I do usually go for the young impressionable type but it would be nice to have someone around who actually understood what I was saying once in a while."
"I can certainly agree with that," Carter said, flinging a look at her teamates who were watching, curious looks on their faces.
"Don't you want to travel the universe with someone tall dark and handsome?" he asked petulantly.
"I already do," Carter gestured to Daniel, Teal'c and O'Neill. "And you can apply that description to whomever you deem appropriate."
"Well it's obvious who the tall one is," he quipped. "But I'm all those things in one."
"And modest too," Carter answered back. "No thanks Doctor. Much as I'd love to spend the next how many ever years following you around in your whatever the hell that is, I think I'll explore space my way."
"Suit yourself," the Doctor turned on his heel and disappeared back into the blue police box.
With a pulsating noise and a wind that came from nowhere, the box vanished, leaving the three male members of SG1 staring at Carter suspiciously.
"Carter," said O'Neill. "What the hell was all that about?"
