A/N: If you recognize them, they aren't mine. Stargate belongs to MGM, Buffy to Joss. Well, Dolly's mine, but I can't afford the real plane. No harm meant, no money made.

A/N2: In keeping with the episodic nature of this series, I'm putting the teaser portion up now, as I wrap "Off We Go." I don't keep to much of a schedule, but I do have a good idea where this story is going, and I'm still hoping to keep this a fun ride. Reviews are great, constructive criticism helps me write better.

"Hey, Daniel, who's your friend?" Jack called out.

"Jack?" Daniel asked. "Is that really you?"

"Yes, Daniel, it really is me," Jack said, rolling his eyes. "And, I repeat, who's your friend?"

"Uh, right, Jack, this is Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell. Mitchell, this is Jack Neillson, Cassandra Fraiser, and…" with that, Daniel turned and saw Buffy clearly for the first time. "Anne?" he said, shock registering on his face.

"It's Buffy," she said, embarrassed. "Frank didn't think it was the right kind of name for a waitress. Anne's my middle name. Buffy Anne Summers. It's good to see you again."

Everyone stood, various expressions of surprise on their faces, when Mitchell gave a broad grin. "This is so cool!"

Jack and Cassie were both looking at Buffy as if there were something seriously wrong. "Summers, how do you know Dr. Jackson?" Jack asked.

"He stopped by a diner where I was working the summer before last," she replied. "It's no big."

Daniel was shifting from foot to foot, trying to figure out how to explain this without touching on anything classified. "We just talked over a meal, nothing important. Did you find that friend you were looking for?"

Buffy nodded, trying to swallow around the lump in her throat. Taking a deep breath, she finally said "We ended up breaking up for good just after graduation."

"That's too bad."

Silence threatened to take over until Mitchell spoke up. "Niellson, isn't that General O'Neill's—"

"Nephew," Jack interrupted, giving the officer a glare worthy of the original himself. "He's still upset I wouldn't go into the Academy like he did, joined the reserves instead."

"Much as I'm enjoying the awkward, what exactly are we doing here, besides punching holes in paper targets?" Buffy asked.

"Maybe we should discuss this over…" Daniel hesitated, trying to decide what would be an appropriate suggestion.

"Food sounds great, Danny," Jack said, clapping the bespectacled scientist on the shoulder. "You can tell us all about this wonderful diner of yours."

"Uh, Jack, I don't really remember all that much of the time," Daniel spluttered.

"Tell you what," Mitchell said, still grinning. "I'm buying."
