“Dear Calvin,” the card from Cousin Willow began.
“For your birthday, I’m giving you real magic. Sprinkle this powder on a toy and it will come to life. But be careful using it.”
“Oh boy!” said Calvin.
He sprinkled the powder on the stuffed tiger he called Hobbes and always pretended was real.
Hobbes glowed, blinked his eyes, and began to move, like a real, albeit short, tiger.
“Wow!” said Calvin. “It really is a magical world, Hobbes, ol’ buddy."
The tiger looked at him. A few moments ago he was stuffed, but now he was hungry.
“Let’s go… Arghhhh!”
