She could feel the blood rushing out of her body as she started to lose conciousness. Her mother had warned her not to visit London. She'd said there were horrible people who would rob you just as soon as look at you. Mother had told her to be careful. All Alice could think as she began to die was that her mother had been right. Her mother had known things were not the same as their quiet town. Just before the world went black, Alice saw the beautiful man she'd followed out of the tavern. He was smiling down at her as she lay dying.
"That was sweet," he said as he cocked his head to the side and smiled at her. "Think we should keep this one?" he asked the lovely woman at his side.
"Not worth the trouble," Darla said, already turning to walk down the cobble stone street. "We'd have to train her and Dru's enough trouble as it is."
"She tasted so sweet though, love," he said as he caught up to his sire. "Have a taste," he offered and dropped his head down to kiss her.
