"What's that?" said the Doctor.

"I was wondering if you could save Krypton?"

"Krypton?"

"You know," said Amy. "Big planet, blew up a few thousand years ago."

"Never heard of the place."

"Everyone's heard of Krypton," said Rory. "It's where Superman comes from."

"Sorry, doesn't mean a thing to me. Is this something you remember from your original timeline, or the reboot?"

"Um... It'd be the reboot," said Amy. "I remember seeing stars the one time I met a Kryptonian."

Costume Piece is part of Marcus Rowland's amazing series Supergirl Returns and adds a whole new dimension to the series in a very fresh way.

Bringing The Doctor and Amy Pond into the equation, The Doctor's world is turned upside down when he learns that the universe after the reboot might not actually be the same as the one he knew before, in fact, everything he knew about time, the universe, the planets and species, it all might be wrong now. With the inclusion of Krypton in the universe now, The Doctor is asked by Amy to go back and save Krypton from destruction, but can he go back and save a planet like Krypton, saving billions of lives is certainly something The Doctor would do, but changing time that drastically?

Costume Piece is currently only a one-shot piece in the universe Marcus Rowland has created here, though I for one am fervently hoping for more. The universe he has created here for his stories is not only rich and diverse, but actually brings together several crossovers in a realistic and believable fashion.

The entire series of Supergirl Returns is definitely worth a read, and I really do hope that Marcus comes back to the Costume Piece storyline soon to furnish us with new tales of The Doctor in this new and different universe.
