The year is 2025, the young girl stood beside the desk, peering through the window. Waiting. Watching. She had not been bold enough to tell him the truth, the truth that haunted her, the deceit… the lies. She bent down and picked up the pictures that lay on the floor of the Halliwell Manor. She looked at them and sighed, pictures of her past, a past that was not going to follow through and become her future. Her future had changed and she longed to know…
...what the future held.

Present Time
Angel, the lonesome vampire, he stood awaiting his adversary to make the first move. Angel was the cunning hero, a champion. As his anxiety and frustration began to build, Angel found he could not wait any longer, he began to strike…

“I’m a pacifist!”

Leo tried to avoid Angel’s elbow colliding with his jaw. Angel turned Leo’s left hand behind his back and put pressure on it.

“Come on, Leo” Angel called. “Be a man!”
“You’re one to talk!” Leo tried to slip his arm away. “You’re not even a man!”
“No ‘vampire’ comments while were training!” Angel snapped. “Focus on Barbas, are you gonna cry out when he tries to take your son!”

Leo felt his blood flow become faster, his face went red at the thought of Barbas harming his children. Leo pulled all of his strength together; he ducked down and flipped Angel over and down.

“Okay you guys,” Paige sighed. “I think you’d better come upstairs before Piper blows a gasket.”

Both Leo and Angel knew that nothing meant more to me than feeding her lovely family, with one look at one another they raced up the basement stairs, and into the kitchen.

The young girl clutched the phone; she spoke softly yet with haste. The unspoken word had led to a bitter rivalry. A rivalry she was responsible for, the disintegration of family ties, the disintegration of friendship…

She put down the phone and headed for the front door of the Halliwell Manor. As she walked passed, to the front porch, the smell of antique would was still there, even after a century of the house being built. She watched as a figure smiled at her. She smiled back, as all anguish and concern left her.

“What are you doing here?” Hayley questioned.

Her relationship with Alec had caused suspicion already, she did not want any further grief, and her heart would not be able to take it.

“I’m not allowed to see my girl?”
“Not when the entire family are doubtful” Hayley put her arms around Alec’s. “They suspect, and I want to tell him on my own terms not everybody else’s.”
“I can’t tell him, how am I supposed to tell him that I’m in love with his girl?”
“I’m not his girl, not anymore” Hayley sighed. “Like it or not, we have to tell Chris the truth”

Alec looked at Hayley, he knew that neither of them had meant to hurt Chris, but they had fallen in love, and as once a great whitelighter had said “Love transcends all.”

The Halliwell clan surrounded the dining room table, Piper at one end and Leo at the other. Angel and Paige sat at one side, and Phoebe and Michael on the other. There was a slight breeze; it made the tissue unravel, as Piper tried to contain it.

“So” Angel began. “Michael’s doing well in school”
“Funny, I got a call from Mrs Lavendatoi saying he missed three of his lessons this week” Paige said.

Michael stopped still, he tried to look through the corner of his eyes, Paige was mad. He tried to orb out but Paige held on to his arm.

“Not so fast!”
“Mom, I…”
“I’m sorry”
“How long are you going to keep this up?”

Michael moved his gaze away from Paige; he looked down as he knew that he was causing too much chaos. It wasn’t fair on Paige; she had been through too much, trying to raise him on her own, and at such a young age.

“It stops now” Michael assured. “I promise.”

Phoebe Halliwell was quite the artist when it came to giving others advice. She had now come to place in life where she was in need of the advice. She had given many advice on finding and keeping love, yet she had had the most trouble doing so herself. Cole, he had not been able to control the demon within, too power bound, and Jason he had not been able to except the notion of magic and witchcraft. As the clock struck eight, Phoebe felt her eye lids fall and tried her best to keep awake.

Phoebe’s little sister, Paige, had found love, in the form of Angel. Phoebe had never met a man… Let’s recap, Angel, Vampire, but he has a soul, which stops him from killing. Anyway back to Phoebe, she had always longed for a prince to come and sweep her off her feet, but that was a fairytale yet to be fulfilled.

“Coming!” Phoebe stood up, unwillingly, and headed for the bathroom.

Inside the conservatory, of the Halliwell Manor, sat Paige Matthews and her nephew, Chris. Chris had just celebrated his twenty first birthday, but it had all come to a point were he hated life.

“Chris, it’s gonna be okay.”

Paige felt guilty, as, her own son had hurt her nephew. As Paige turned to grab a tissue, she saw orbs from the corner of her eye. Her son Alec had arrived with…Hayley.

“Can I talk to Chris alone, please?” Hayley asked.

Paige took her son, Alec by the hand, he was hesitant, he wasn’t sure leaving Hayley alone was the wisest choice. But reluctant as he was he orbed himself and Paige out.

“Chris…I’m really sorry! You have to believe me, I never meant to hurt you, it’s just that…”

Chris turned over to her; his eyes were fixed on hers.

“How can you be so cold, how can you just sit there and forget everything you’ve done!” tears started build up in Chris’s eyes. “You left me for my cousin, my best friend!” Hayley now too had tears in her eyes.

Alec stood at that top of Golden Gate Bridge, beside him stood his mother, Paige. She didn’t want to judge him for his choices, but even she couldn’t understand.

“Mom, you can’t help who you fall in love with.”
“Even if it means hurting the ones you love?”
“Do you think I wanted to hurt him?”
“But you did…”
“I have to go back”

Alec knew that Chris was not himself right now; even he didn’t know what Chris might do. He cared to much for Hayley to just stand around waiting. With a last glance at Paige, Alec orbed out. Paige knew that Chris and Alec being a room together would cause a confrontation, so she followed her son back to the manor.

“Chris I really didn’t mean to hurt-”
“Don’t!” Chris stood up. “Don’t say you didn’t mean to hurt me!”

Hayley wiped the tears from her eyes, she had loved him, but it wasn’t enough, not enough to save him.

“Why can’t you under stand?” Chris questioned. “I love you”

Chris buried his head in his hands, it was the only way he could stop himself from running his fist into a wall. The events that had unfolded in the last couple of days had changed him. He felt hatred and bitterness, he felt evil…

Paige awoke early that morning and dropped off her children, Michael, Alec and Jessica to school. She sat in the sitting room of the Halliwell Manor feeding her new born nephew, Chris. Besides her sat her nine month old son, Shawn.

“Come on, Chris, aunty Paige doesn’t have all day!”

She worked at Angel Investigations, alongside her husband Angel. Paige is one third of the Charmed One; this meant devoting most of her time to fighting demons and the forces of evil. She had never thought she would meet someone who she could talk to about magic so freely, Angel was unique, and that’s what she loves most about him. One day, after he has fulfilled his destiny, the powers that be will make him a mortal again, and restore his humanity.

“Hey, anybody home?”
“I can explain! Piper got a call from the club and she had to go in and I had to look after Chris, plus I had to drop Alec, Jessica and Wyatt off at school,” Paige looked over at Angel. “And, why are you home so early?” Count on her to blame it all on me!
“I came home because we weren’t busy at work.”
“-AND I asked Gunn to call me if I’m needed, so now I can spend time with you.”
“But I need to get to work!”
“Honey, I told you, you’re not going to work, not when you have...”

Angel couldn’t finish off. He still couldn’t come to terms, with his wife having cancer. It was too hard to think about, no wanted to lose the one they loved…

“Well, alright, but someone is going to have to go and pick up the twins from Cole’s place,”
“It’s already taken care of. I’ve got Spike on it, and he’s on his way their right now.”

Spike was an ex-vampire too, just like Angel. But neither had seen eye to eye. Paige had drawn close to Spike, he was a great friend. He too had a soul and that was what stopped him from hurting others.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea, you know that Cole doesn’t like him,”

A sudden noise turned their attention to the living room, Cole shimmered into the room along with Matthew, Nichole, Alec, Jessica, Wyatt and he had Spike by the throat.

“Cole! What are you doing? Are you completely crazy?”
“Paige, when my kids are being taken from me I expect a SANE HUMAN to come and take them!”
“Hey, watch your tone!” said Angel.

Cole turned to Angel. They both looked at each other. Paige knew that somebody had to break the tension. She hated Cole as much as she loved Angel. They had never seen eye to eye, ever since Paige found out that Cole was the father of her children, Matthew and Nichole she had hated him even more.

“Human! Your one to talk,” laughed Spike.

Paige, Cole and Angel looked at him, and he sensed it was time for him to leave. Spike was always putting his foot in it.

“Alright, I’m going!”
“Mommy, I made you picture, do you like it?”

Paige took the picture from her son, Matthew, and gave him a hug. She knew that Matthew did not enjoy these visits to Cole’s house but Paige did not want Cole to become an enemy, she didn’t want to put her children’s well being at risk.

“I love it; it’s beautiful, just like you!” Paige turned her attention to Cole, “Cole, the next time you think about storming into my house, don’t! And fine, next time I’ll come and pick them up myself! Happy? Now please leave.”

Cole knew that even with his demonic powers it would be hard for him to battle two vampires and a charmed one, so he gave his children a kiss each and then shimmered out.

Phoebe walked into the head-courters’ of the Bay Mirror; she began to look around as she caught sight of her boss, Elise.

“Elise, Hi, sorry I’m late, it wont happen again.”
“Of course it will,” Elise began to head for the office. “But hey, if you keep getting responses like this, who cares?”

Elise handed Phoebe a load of papers.

“Look at these emails” she flaunted the papers in front of Phoebe. “All from this morning’s column”.
“Uh, yeah, about this morning’s column…”
“It was brilliant, Phoebe!” Elise had a very big smile on her face. “I mean, you make us look so classy when your advice is provocative, insightful…”

Elise shot a dead glance at Phoebe.

“Don’t worry, I stole from myself”
“I don’t understand”
“Yeah, I don't understand either, Elise. But it turns out I gave the exact same advice to someone last year, and I didn't realise it until it was too late.”
“So? Big deal. Columnists recycle stuff all the time.”
“Yeah, but I don't. At least, I never used to, and I just, I don't think I should write anymore until I figure out why this happened.”

Phoebe tried to calm herself down, it frustrated her to think she wasn’t doing her job as well as she used to.

“Don't be ridiculous.”
“No, I'm not being ridiculous, I'm just being honest, Elise. I can't give people recycled advice, it's just not right. It's not ethical”

Phoebe wanted to give her readers the best possible advice she could, but lately she was failing to do so.

“Phoebe, you can't just quit.”
“Oh, and I don't want to quit. Elise, I love my job, you know, I just don't think I can do it right now.”
“Okay, alright, take a sabbatical, rest, recharge your batteries. A couple of months enough?”
“Can I do that?”
“Of course you can. I'm the boss, aren't I?”
“And what happens to my column? I mean, do you just pull it?”
“And watch sales drop? Are you kidding?”

Elise stopped still, and began to think for a moment. Such a decision would need a lot of thought, or that’s what Phoebe thought.

“No. I'll hire someone to ghost write it for you. Your readers will never know you're gone.”
“Wait, What?”

Before Phoebe could finish they were interrupted by her assistant.

“Phoebe? Sorry, it's your sister, she says it's important.”
“Go ahead, I'll handle this. Don't worry about anything. Rest up”

Elise took one last hopeful look at Phoebe and headed out. Phoebe walked into her office and picked up the phone.

“Hey. I think I have figured out how to save Leo. If we can keep him from going after Barbas, then we can go after him ourselves” Paige answered.
“Wait, What?”
“It's perfect. All we have to do is guilt Leo into taking Piper to the wedding.”
“Yes, but Leo has been on this crazy training, thanks to your husband, and he is determined to get rid of every, and all threats against Wyatt.”
“Are you trying to make me feel guilty?”
“Of course not, sweetie” Phoebe didn’t intend on making Paige feel responsible. “We can’t do this now, what about your big date?”

Phoebe pulled at her sleeve and looked at her watch.

“Which is in less than an hour”
“I know, it’s just that…”
“What is it, Paige?”
“I feel like this whole cancer thing is ruining our relationship, Angel’s always trying to make things easy for me.”
“Well, sweetie, that’s because he loves you.”
“I know.”

There was a long silence as Phoebe knew that the sudden change in circumstances had left the girls lost for words. “I’ll see you at home.”

Piper stood behind the counter of P3, the club she had owned for the last six years. She clutched the phone tight.

“Oh, no, that's okay, Jerry, just, you know, get here whenever you can. Okay, thanks! Bye”

Piper put the phone down beside her. One of Piper’s employees, Rex walked over. He looked a little worried.

“Are you okay, Piper?”
“Yeah, Why?”
“Well, a beer shipment delayed so close to the weekend, just figured there'd be more fireworks.”
“Oh, no, it's no big deal. We'll just charge more for the ginger ale.”

There was a sudden silence.

“I’m kidding”
“See, there you go again. I don't know what, but something's going on.”
“No. You know how people just leave things up to a higher power? Well, I'm trying to live my life without any powers” Piper explained. “Makes for a lot less stress”

Piper moved her gaze to the front stairs, as she saw her sister, Phoebe, enter the club.

“Piper” she called.
“Until now”

Piper finished, knowing that something was not right. Rex began to leave as he saw Phoebe approach the bar.

“What's that face for? Your sister can't come by without there being something wrong?”
“What’s up?”
“Nothing. Nothing's up, you know. Why would you think anything is up? I just came by to tell my sister that I finally won a readers choice award.”

Phoebe started off easy; she wanted to ease Piper into the whole situation.

“Thanks. Yeah, maybe there's one more thing, you know.”

Phoebe put her bag to one side and rested her hands on the counter.

“I’m worried about Paige”
“We all are.”
“I sort of asked Angel to arrange the dinner so he could bring up the cemo…”
“You did what!”
“I’m sorry”
“Paige is going to freak out”
“Let’s go!”

Piper got her coat and headed for the car park. Phoebe knew she was in trouble, and she had a feeling that things were about to get worse.

Paige and Angel started to gather the children, being the parents’ to six children was not a easy job. Piper entered the room, along with Phoebe and Leo.

“Hey you guys, I know you’re really stressed out right now, so we thought we would give you both some time alone to-”

Phoebe could barely finish what she was saying as Piper cut in. (Too much detail was not what we needed right now).

“I’m sure what Phoebes means is that, we will take the kids out of your hands for tonight so you can spend some time together, alone, with no worries”.
“Thanks you guys, I really need the rest”. Paige said, and gave them a smile.

The phone began to ring and Piper went over and answered it.

“Hello?” Piper said. “Phoebe, it's for you.”
“Is this a bad time?” Elise asked.

Piper followed Leo, Angel and Paige upstairs, with the babies in their arms and the toddlers following by foot.

“Actually, Elise, yeah, I'm kind of up to my elbows in stuff.”

Phoebe had to make sure that Angel did not mention the cemo to Paige at the dinner. She knew that Piper would kill her, and Paige would know that it was all her doing.

“Well, I just wanted to give you the good news. The ghost writer that I was hoping to hire just happens to be in town and wants to do it. Isn't that terrific?”
“Wait, what?”
“And better yet, Leslie can start right away with tomorrow's column.”
“Leslie? Okay, who's Leslie? Elise, don't you think I should have a say in this?”
“So how soon can you get down here because I'd really like the two of you to meet as soon as possible?”
“Yeah, no, now's not really a good time.”

Phoebe struggled in trying to stop Alec from dropping vase. She waved her hand at Michael, in plea for some assistance.

“Ugly thing!” Michael called, orbing it to him.
“Thank you” Phoebe said.
“What?” Elise asked.
“No, not you.”
“Okay, well, how about in an hour? We'll see you then.”

“She can hardly wait to meet you” Elise assured.
“Well, likewise” a young man replied.

“She hung up on me. I cannot believe she hung up on me” Phoebe muttered. Alec began to laugh. “And what are you laughing at, young man?”

Phoebe picked him up and followed the family upstairs.

Paige stood in the main bathroom applying her make up. She and Angel had been married for over two years, but she loved to dress up for him.

Before we carry on I just want you all to know that my sister, Paige and my little brother in law are no ordinary couple, far from it. I guess us Halliwell girls have a tendency to date and marry… DEAD men. Anyway, where was I? Ah, Paige and Angel, She loved him, he wanted to love her back, he stopped himself be fore she could get hurt, but fate brought them together.

As Paige combed her hair, continuously, she watched as her sister, Phoebe stood by the door.

“You’re going to walk through the door and his going to want to throw you on the floor!” P
“That’s the plan.”

Paige turned to face her sister, she knew that Phoebe was about to give her ‘the talk’.

“Look Phoebe” Paige put the lipstick to one side. “Just because I have cancer I’m not gonna sit wondering if I’m going to drop dead…”
“I’m gonna spend time with my sisters, my children, my husband. AND I’m going to enjoy myself.”

Phoebe knew that her sister was right; she couldn’t stop living her life.

“You go get him.”

Phoebe held Paige close, she had found her at a time she lost another sister. She was not willing to let her go.

Piper sat at the table in the kitchen, she tried to avoid her husbands gaze. It had been so hard for them to get over the death of their son Chris. Chris had come from the future to save his brother, Wyatt from turning evil. Chris had been killed by Gideon before he could see the outcome. Now, Leo found it hard to trust any Elder after he killed Gideon, to save his sons…

“Honey, I…” Piper began.

She took a deep breath and put her mug to one side.

“I have to go!”
“God! Damn it!”

Piper covered her eyes; she felt the warm drops of tears run down her face.

“I can’t do this anymore” she cried. “I want to help you.”
“You can’t.”

Leo gave her kiss on the head and headed for the basement. Angel was making him train hard, but Leo knew that it was what he needed to protect his children.

Piper held Chris in her arms, and next to her stood Wyatt, Matthew and Nichole. Phoebe held Shawn in her arms and kept a close eye on Alec and Jessica.

“Okay, We’ve dropped Michael off at Luke’s place” Phoebe said.
“And we’ll take these lot out to dinner” Piper said.
“Thank you so much” Angel said.
“It’s okay.” Piper looked over at Wyatt. “A little help”

Wyatt let out a chuckle, and then orbed them all out. Phoebe looked over at Angel.

“Don’t mention the cemo, she’ll do it when she’s ready”
“What if she’s never ready?”
“Well pass that hurdle when we get to it”
“Take care of him” Angel gave Shawn a kiss.
“Have a great time” Phoebe looked over at Shawn. “Orb us out little guy”

As Phoebe disappeared, Angel headed for the kitchen to set the table, and check on the food. He wanted to make this a day Paige never forgot.

Paige entered the kitchen, wearing a black, knee-length sophisticated dress, she found Angel, in his usual dark shirt and black trousers, setting dinner on the table, for two.

“Oh my God! I can’t believe you did all this - you DID do all this…right?”
“Yes, I’ve been taking cooking lessons from Piper and I knew it would come in handy!”
“You look…” Angel stared at Paige, he didn’t have the words.
“You to”
“Take a seat”
“I can’t believe you did all this”
“Anything for you”

Angel loved Paige so much, he couldn’t put his feelings to words, it was indescribable the way he felt about her. He knew that losing her would kill him.

“I love you and I can’t lose you.”
“I love you too”
“Please take the cemo”
“Angel please”

Paige began to wipe away the tears but it was too much. Angel placed his hand on her face; he put her hair behind her ears and pulled her close. Paige rested her head on Angel chest.

“Don’t ever leave me,” Angel said.

A sudden swirl of lights appeared, a hole began to rip open. Paige knew what it was, she had seen a it so many times before. Chris, the Evil Enchantress, the Evil World. Angel too had seen it so many times before. Conner, the Hosts dimension… A portal.

A young man flew out of the portal landing in front of Paige. He lay there for a second.

Paige stepped closer to him and extended her hand. The man held on and picked himself up. He shook his head continuously, trying to get himself back to reality. As he turned his attention to Paige, he stood aghast.

He moved his gaze over to Angel, and let out a sigh.

Paige looked over at Angel, who too was in disbelief, how was this possible? Where had this man come from? But most importantly, who was he?
