With one final deep breath Buffy ran forward and leapt. Dawnie would live, that was what was important. She released her burdens and welcomed her gift just as she fell into the portal and accepted her fate.

Soft billowy clouds of light embraced her and she felt peace, love and safety. *So am I in Heaven?* She thought to herself. It certainly wasn’t a hell dimension. Looking around, she noticed two beings of light who condensed themselves into human shape. One was a woman who had great wisdom and light within her eyes. The other was a yummy Giles-like man. Looking at the eye candy before her, she smiled.

*Yep, this is heaven.* She decided.

“Welcome, Slayer, to enlightenment. I am Oma Desala and this is Daniel Jackson.”

Daniel smiled warmly at her and she couldn’t help thinking. *Most definitely Heaven!* She smiled back at him. There was something about him that felt just right, something familiar.

“Hi. So I’m guessing this is heaven. Do you know if my friends are alright? I didn’t actually kill Glory, and I’m a little worried about that.”

“The road is long but the burden is light,” Oma stated in reply.

“Is that an answer or a riddle?” Buffy asked, but she somehow knew that her friends and family would be fine.

“How deep is the river if you cannot see the bottom?” Oma responded.

Daniel was about to answer Buffy's question to the best of his ability when the tiny blonde jumped up and down in excitement.

“Oh, I know this game! The river is as deep as it is!” She smiled brilliantly and Daniel was doubly confounded. Her smile was enough of a distraction as it was but...

“Did she just answer the river question?” He asked.

“Oh, now I have one for you.” Buffy told Daniel. “If a cow moo’s in the forest does it make a sound?”

Daniel blinked in confusion. *Did she just say what I think she said?* Daniel was lost for a long moment before he responded.

“Um, I think that is supposed to be if a tree falls in the middle of the forest and no one is around does it make a sound,” Daniel stated feeling a little overwhelmed by the lovely blonde before him.

“Sure it does, but that was a lot like my question, but that’s ok.”

“No, not a noise but a sound,” Daniel tried to clarify. “How can it make a sound if there is no one around to hear it?”

“Well, the cow heard it,” Buffy responded as if it was obvious. She tried desperately to hold back her laughter at the look on his face, but she couldn’t stop it. She hadn’t felt this good, this free, in years.

“It’s good to meet you Daniel.” Buffy stated at length. “I think I’m going to like heaven.”
