Title: The Date

Author: Coldhands

Spoilers: I am not entirely sure if there are any.

Setting: Atlantis, first season, I guess. I am not entirely sure of when it’s set either. BTVS, after Chosen. This is a sequel to Reflections, and Reflecting.

Disclaimer: I don’t own any Stargate, I don’t own Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Stargate: Atlantis and SG-1 belong to their respective owners/creators who I think are the same people. Buffy (and Xander) belong to the great Master Joss Whedon.

Author’s Plea: Do you have to post story banners (pictures, images) on separate web space? Because I’d like to post some great images I photoshoped as banners for their correlating stories and I’m not sure how I’m supposed to do that.

-Imp throws rock while cackling insanely-

Xander looked up from his carving at the knock on his door. Rodney didn’t bother to ask if he could come in, not because Xander had told him of his longstanding unease with inviting people in, it was just the way he was.

“We may have to postpone our meeting tonight; Zelenka thinks he’s found another research lab with what looks like the remains of a fighter ship of some kind.” Rodney said in his own fast-paced manner.

“Is this the kind of remains that leaves you covered in demonic black goo?” Xander asked.

“For the last time, that wasn’t goo, it was the Ancient’s version of transmission fluid,” Rodney shot back, annoyed, “and demonic? Where do you come up with this stuff?”

“My life was weird long before I came here,” Xander answered vaguely, “so, not on tonight?”

“Probably not.” Rodney said.

Xander sighed exasperatedly but didn’t let it show on his face. Too much. Rodney’s ego didn’t need any more bolstering.

“Xander!” Xander was surprised to hear Rodney calling him. He turned around to watch the genius catch up with him in the empty hallway.

“I thought you said we’d postpone it?” He asked as Rodney caught his breath.

“Probably postpone,” He said between wheezes, “Zelenka can handle the fighter on his own.”

“Wow.” Xander commented, “I didn’t know I rated that high, for you to leave all the lesser brains on their lonesome.”

“Well, you do,” Rodney said, nervously, “So, we going?”

“Sure, you’re sure you’re not needed?” Xander asked.

“I’m sure.” Rodney said just as the speaker came on announcing:
Dr. McKay, report to the Gate Room immediately.
