Xander fell down in the chair that his Mom had asked him to sit down in.
"Are you going to be all right?" Jessica asked as she watched her only son stare off into space.
Xander nodded, then shook his head, "No I'm not, you just told me that I would be turning into a madman each night."
Jessica sighed, "Look Alexander, I wouldn't have called you the 'Defender of Man' if I did think you could. You see, I know what goes on in Sunnydale, I know all about your friends and what you all do, but this is something you're going to need to deal with right now."
Xander looked up at his mom, "What am I supposed to do then?"
"You are going to need to leave Sunnydale, because if you don't the Hellmouth will change the thinking of Edward." Jessica said as she kneeled down in front of Xander.
"When do I have to leave?" Xander asked as he thought about it.
"Today would be best." Jessica said as she stood up, "You can go say your good bye's to your friends, I'll pack your things.
Without saying anything Xander stood up and left his house. He had gone to Willow's and Buffy's houses without success, so he decided to let Giles know that he would be leaving, but he didn't get the chance, for when he was about to knock he heard people talking about him, so he turned around and left with out saying good-bye. When he got home a '85 black Mustang was sitting in the driveway, with his mom standing by it.
"This was your Dad's, he wanted me to give it to you when you where old enough, here are the keys," Jessica said as she held out the keys and a big wad of money, "and some money for food, lodging and gas."
Xander took the keys and the money, then walked around the hood and climbed into the open door, closing it behind him. He started the car and listened to it purr, before he shifted it to drive and started easing it out of the driveway, but he heard his Mom's soft, "Good luck." then he was gone, leaving the helmouth for a while.
