Xander woke up to the sounds of horns honking on the streets. He rubbed his face as he sat up, he looked around at the room that he fell asleep in, he got up, grabbed some clothes, got dressed, grabbed some money, headed out of the room, he got to the stairs and headed down, he left the building, he took a look at the address to find the owner.
1250 Yeasly St.
"I'm coming, keep your shorts on."
Xander waited for the owner to come to the door, when the door opened a wrinkled face peered out from the doorway.
"What do you want?"
"I was wondering how much you wanted for the place in downtown St. Louis."
"Oh, well, about 10,000 straight up young man," Crowley said as he studied the young man, "but why would you want to buy it, seeing as how it's so close to the 'Blood District'."
Xander looked confused, "Blood District?"
Crowley's face lit up, "Ah, you must be new to St. Louis."
"Yeah I am," Xander said.
"All right, the 'Blood District' is where all the vampires bussinesses are at." Crowley said as he watched the young mans face for anything, when he didn't see any type of emotion he got worried.
"Well, I have 10,000 on me right now so if you could get whatever papers I need to sign, I'll buy it off you right now," Xander said as he grabbed his wallet and opened it pulling out 10,000 dollars.
Crowley studied the young man some more and then opened the screen door, "Come in son."
Xander looked at the old man, "Is some thing wrong."
"Son, I might be old but I wasn't born yesterday, come in and have a seat and explain your perdicament."
Xander walked into the house and waited for the old man to close the door and show him the living room.
Once they where seated in comfortable chairs they introduced themselves.
"My name is Edward Crowley, but around this neighborhood I'm known as old man Crowley, I was born in 1915 in Massona, Wisconsion. I was a captain in the army during WW2. I have loved two women in my life, had a few children with each wife and survived both of their deaths."
"Alexander Harris, Xander for short. I was born in 1981 in Sunnydale, California. I was on the swim team for a while but it didn't work out. I have loved five women in my life but was never married."
"Nice to meet you Xander Harris."
"You too Edward Crowley."
"Now that that is done please tell truth of why you didn't run scream away when I told you my building was so close to the 'Blood District'."
"The real question is, would you believe me even if I told you?"
Crowley laughed a harsh laugh, "Oh I haven't laughed this much since before I went over to Germany," Crowley wiped a tear away and looked back at a smiling Xander, "why don't you tell me and I will decide if I believe you or not."
So Xander sat back and told Edward Crowley about where he really came from.
A couple of hours later saw Xander and Crowley in the kitchen finishing up the lunch that Edward made.
Crowley sat back in his chair swallowing the last bite of his sandwhich, "So you are from an alternate dimension, where the vampires there are mindless killing machines, and there are werewolves and demons. And when this Hellgoddess Glorificus cut your friends little sister open and that caused rips to appear and brought unwanted demons to your Earth and when you got hit by a lightining bolt you where transported to this dimension and that your type of vampires and demons have also been transported to this dimension. And that you where attacked by the Tiger King, and since that happened you can't go back to your dimension because there are no weretigers there, and since you couldn't go back you where asked by these Powers That Be to be their champion here. Do I have all the facts right?"
Xander nodded as he was just finishing his sandwhich.
"Well, the first thing I would say was that you would need a base of operations, and since you asked to buy my building, I'll give to you, but I would be a silent partner so to speak. And you would need a car, and other things like weapons so that you can kill these demons, would guns work?"
Xander shook his head, "Nope, guns just tend to piss these demons off."
Crowley nodded his head, "Okay, no guns. How about swords and the like."
"Those would work," Xander said as he finished his soda.
"Good because I now some one who sells them," Crowley said as he watched Xander, "Xander, I have a question, what happens when you get rid of all the vampires and demons here?"
Xander looked at the older man, "I guess do what anyone esle would do."
"And what's that."
"Go on vacation."
Crowley laughed at that.
Xander smiled and watched as Crowley wiped the tears away.
"Your'e good at that."
"Good at what?"
"Dodging questions that you don't want answered, sort of like a private detective."
Xander thought about what Crowley said, "Crowley you just gave me an idea."
Crowley looked confused for a minute, "About what, the private detective part?"
Xander smiled and nodded, "Yep."
Crowley thought about for a minute and then nodded, "It is a good idea, and you could use that as a front for looking for the demons and vampires you are looking for."
"That's what I thought to," Xander said as a grin spread over Crowley's face.
"I like it."
"So do I."
Anita was laying on the couch, looking up at the ceiling, when the door opened and the pard came in, along followed by Richard.
Anita sighed when she felt Richard coming in the house, "What do you want Richard."
"Anna and Cherry called me from the clinic to tell me a patient of Lillian's snuck off last night."
"So, what does that have to do with you," Anita asked as she stood up from the couch.
Richard shrugged, "Ask Cherry and Anna."
Anita turned to look at Cherry.
Cherry looked at her Nimir-Ra, "I'm sorry Anita but the guy felt off and I tried to call you and Micah, but neither of you answered so I called Richard."
Anita shook her head, "It's all right Cherry. So what did this guy look like?"
"About 6', 165lbs, chocolate brown eyes, dark hair, and his name is Xander Harris, from Sunnydale, California."
