AU, before "Justice"

Smallville, Kansas
Chloe awoke tied and gagged. She had been kidnapped by some freak who was after Clark. Chloe feared he may be a zoner since he knew Clark’s weakness and his home planet. How was she going to get out of this? If she found a way to contact Clark, he could save her from this guy, but at what risk? Could the Green Arrow save her? Chloe was so busy thinking that she didn’t realize she had closed her eyes. She opened them and was shocked; she was in Oliver Queen’s loft. Lois had described it so many times that Chloe instantly knew where she was.

The sound of shattering glass drew Chloe’s attention to the half clock behind her. Standing before her was Oliver Queen in the Green Arrow outfit minus the sunglasses.

“Chloe? How?”

Chloe realized he was staring at her waist; she glanced down and saw she was standing in his desk. She knew she should be shocked or scared, but there was no time for that.

“Alright look I don’t have a lot of time, but I’ve been kidnapped and Clark can’t help me, because that’s who he’s after. I’m being held…”

Chloe felt a sharp pain across her cheek. She was suddenly back in the warehouse tied to a chair.

“Wake up, bitch!”

Chloe realized she had just been slapped. She shifted her jaw as her cell phone rang on the table a few feet away where her captor had placed all her personal effects. He turned and glared at her. Chloe didn’t have time to think about what was going on when her captor spoke.

“Oliver Queen? Lover?”

Chloe nodded her head.

The zoner ripped the gag off and had her answer.

“Chloe? I, uh, I was just checking in on you.”

“Oliver, babe, I uh,” she didn’t know where she was.

“I just was thinking about you and,” he began to whisper, ”I’m tracing this keep talking.”

“Oliver, I can’t talk I’m kind of tied up right now.”

The phone was pulled away and the zoner punched Chloe.

“Chloe! Chloe!” Oliver could be heard shouting in the phone.

“Listen up, lover boy, you want your girl back, tell Clark Kent to come and get her!” The phone was snapped shut and slammed onto the table. “Very nice, bitch, but I’m running this show and I will get my revenge.”

Oliver sighed as he heard the phone close, he looked at the computer to see that it had located Chloe. The phone was still on her kidnapper hadn’t ended the call, he had simply closed the phone. He tracked her to a warehouse between Metropolis and Smallville. He grabbed his crossbow and went out to his bike. On his ride over he called Clark.

“Kent, its Oliver, Chloe is in trouble. I have a plan, no, you can’t run into rescue, it’s you the guy is after. No, see you there.”

Chloe sat and watched as her captor tossed up and caught a piece of kryptonite. She bit the gag angrily as he looked at her and laughed. “If your boyfriend loves you, he’ll do what’s right by you and I’ll get my revenge. Jor-El sent me to hell and his son let me loose in a new cage. I’m as weak as you on this rock.”

‘Weak,’ Chloe thought, ‘if I didn’t just hallucinate that wasn’t weak. But how was I able to do that? Astral projection is something right out of the Inquisitor. I haven’t been exposed to massive amounts of kryptonite lately.’

Her captor froze as though he was listening for something. Chloe listened, staring at the zoner. When he jumped and reached behind his neck. He pulled out an arrow.

“Stupid human!” He yelled.

Another arrow whizzed through the air and struck the ropes holding Chloe.

“Are you sure about that?” The Green Arrow’s deep voice called out.

Chloe could feel the ropes loosen, the arrow had cut them. She tensed waiting, she didn’t have to wait the Green Arrow came right to them. The zoner turned and met the Green Arrow with a punch to the jaw. The Green Arrow stumbled, but fought back. Chloe watched as the Green Arrow led him away from her. She struggled out of the ropes and removed her gag. Chloe got up and ran knowing the Green Arrow could handle himself. She burst outside into the night to find Clark waiting for her.

“It’s a zoner, isn’t it?” He asked.

“Yeah, but Clark he has kryptonite.”

She saw Clark glaring intently at the building, “he’s in trouble.”

“Clark, catch me,” Chloe pretended to faint as she concentrated.

“Chloe!” Clark yelled as she fell into his arms.

Chloe opened her eyes she was back inside the warehouse. She watched as the zoner and the Green Arrow fought, she ran over to the large hunk of kryptonite and concentrated. She reached out and grabbed the rock. She threw it as hard as she could out a window and then yelled, “Now, Clark!”

Clark appeared before her and stared, “Chloe, how?”

“I’ll tell you later, help him.” She pointed to the fight going on behind her. “Meet you outside.” She closed her eyes and reopened them to find herself outside laying on the ground. Ten minutes later Clark and Oliver emerged from the warehouse.

“Chloe, what’s going on?”

“She can astral project,” Oliver spoke, “meteor rocks?”

Chloe shrugged her shoulders, “I don’t know, tonight was the first time I’ve been able to do that.”

A week later Chloe was at the Daily Planet when a man called her named Mohinder Suresh. He knew she was special and he wanted to talk.
