AN: Takes place after Season 7 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. There is no Darla and no Connor. Angel Investigations did not get Wolfram and Hart, and Cordelia did not die. This is an Angel/Kim. Buffy characters will come into play later. I do not own Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or the Power Rangers. Please do not try to sue me; I have nothing, but a lot of hours at work.

Chapter 1

Kim stood on the sidewalk outside of the Hyperion Hotel where her cousin worked. She was surprised that her cousin was working at all, but she was more surprised that her cousin was working as a Private Investigator. Her cousin wasn't one to work to hard when they had been growing up. Kim's aunt and uncle were more than willing to spoil their only child. They gave her what ever she wanted, when she wanted it, just as long as she didn't bother them. Being so spoiled is what had turned her cousin into the most hated girl in high school. The only people that hung out with her were the ones who wanted the things that her parents gave her. When Kim had tried to get her cousin to change, her cousin would just laugh at her. Neither Kim nor her cousin really cared what other people thought of them, so it really didn't matter too much. One of the things that Kim admired about her cousin the most was that her cousin could always get herself out of trouble when she needed to, and her cousin never had to prove that she could.

Kim shook her head. She decided that she couldn't stand on the sidewalk all night, so she headed inside. Upon entering, Kim saw a man and woman standing at the counter. The mad was about 6 foot tall, bald, black, and fairly good looking. The woman was about 5 foot 8 inches tall, long brown hair, and pretty. Her hair was the same length as Kim's cousin's when she had still been in high school. They didn't notice her until she started walking towards them.

"Hi how may we help you this evening?" The man asked her suspiciously.

"I was wondering if Cordelia Chase was here."

"She's working on a case with our bosses at the moment. Is there anything that the two of us can help you with?" The woman was a little to cheerful for Kim at the moment.

"No thank you. I'll just wait for Cordelia if the two of you don't mind"

"Not at all. My name is Fred, and this is Charles."

"Everyone just calls me Gunn."

"Kimberly Hart, but everyone calls me Kim."

"So how do you know Cordelia?" Gunn asked Kim suspiciously.

"I would rather not say at the moment, but I guess you had to ask. Which is a good thing when you work for a private investigator that deals with things that go bump in the night?"

"How do you know about...?” Gunn was interrupted by Cordelia yelling at the two men she walked in with.

"Forget it guys! No amounts of apologies are going to make this right." Cordelia was covered from head to toe in slime. It was obvious to everyone, including Kim that Cordelia was on the wrong end of an exploding demon. Kim started laughing. Everyone turned to look at who was laughing. Cordelia was shocked for a minute. "Kim! Oh my god. I haven't seen you since the summer before I started my senior year of high school. What are you doing here?" Kim had just started to calm down when Cordelia started to run towards her. That got Kim to stop laughing altogether. Kim started to back up, but Cordelia continued to advance on her. Kim shook her head and decided to take matters into her own hands. She did a back flip and landed on the staircase. She had landed on the third step from the top.

"Don't you dare come near me while you look like that Cordelia Chase. The last thing I need at the moment is to end up looking like you." Cordelia stopped advancing. Cordelia looked down at herself.

"It's not my fault I'm covered in slime." Kim raised her eyebrows at Cordelia's comment. "If I had been told to duck, I would have. Unfortunately, the two I walked in with thought it would be funny if they forgot to tell me that little detail."

Kim started giggling. "Why don't you go clean up, and then I'll tell you why I came?"

"Okay. I'm warning you all right now, behave. That goes for you too Kim."

"I'm not going to do anything Delia. I hate to tell you this girl, but I wasn't the one who ended up in the hospital when were in school."

"You were able to hide you injuries better."

"I just healed quicker than you did." Cordelia stuck her tongue out at Kim and headed up the stairs. Kim laughed and flipped over Cordelia’s head, landing on the floor of the lobby.

Kim was still laughing when Cordelia walked out of sight. Kim looked at the other two people in the lobby of the hotel. One of them was a little taller than Gunn. He had dark hair, brown eyes, and he was extremely handsome. The other one was slightly shorter than Gunn. He also had dark hair, but his eyes were blue and hidden behind a pair of glasses. The taller of the two had to be Angel. He had the angelic face that Cordelia had told her about. The other one had to be Wesley, the ex-watcher. Kim giggled at the looks on everyone’s faces. It had to be the moves she had pulled to get away from Cordelia. Kim thanked God she could still pull off those moves. It had definitely been awhile since she had pulled off anything like that.

She watched as all of them slowly come out of the trances that they had been in. The first one to move was Angel. He headed toward the office. Wesley followed after him. Fred and Gunn were the last to follow. Kim just moved toward the orange couch in the middle of the lobby. She sat there waiting for Cordelia to come down. She could hear the rest of Cordelia’s friends talking about her. Sometimes her new powers were of some use to her. She quietly waited for Cordelia to come down while listening to her friends. Kim smiled. Thirty minutes later Cordelia had come back down stairs slime free. Kim gave her a hug, but she made sure that a smile was on her face when they pulled away from each other.

“Now tell me why you’re here. The last time you sent me a letter, you told me that you thought that you had found the one you wanted to spend the rest of your life with.”

“I was wrong. I fell into the same trap as before. He started out really nice, and then he changed into someone I didn’t know. I left as soon as I could.”

“Okay, but why come here?”

“I didn’t know where else to go. I’ve been having nightmares for the past week. My strength and speed have increased, and I heal about ten times faster than I ever did before. I’m telling you Delia, it freaked me out at first. Than I suddenly remembered what you told me about that girl you went to school with. I think her name was Buffy. Everything was exactly the same. I just knew that I had become a Slayer. I was hoping someone you knew could explain why I suddenly become a Slayer when that was not supposed to happen after I turned 18.”

“Let’s talk to Angel and Wesley; they might know what has happened. They were talking to Buffy and Willow last Friday about some kind of spell. This may have something to do with it.”
