Title: One Wish
Disclaimer: Nope, don't own it, sorry.
Pairings: Yeah, right. :D
"Wish? You want to know what I wish?" demanded Queen C, fury radiating off her in waves.
"Sure," said that weird transfer student, Anya. "Come on, let me have it."
Cordelia paused for a moment, and a grin spread over her face. "I wish demons never existed in the first place, so there'd never have been any reason for the damned Slayer to come here!"
Anya's face distorted, becoming hideous and veiny. "Wish granted!" she crowed - then stopped, a stunned expression on her face as reality began shifting. "Oh, sh--!"
The Powers That Be stared down at the mortal plane. "Oh, now THAT'S a new one," muttered one. "Of all the wishes a Vengeance Demon could grant, I don't think that's one D'Hoffryn ever expected."
Another was confused. "But all that mystic energy... demons weren't really biological entities, they were solidified energy. And even with the power of the Wish, energy cannot be created or destroyed, only changed!"
"Well," said a third, "let's have a looksee down there to see where it all went." He waved his hand, and a fog bank rolled in, then opened revealing a scene on Earth at that very moment.
The sandy haired man stared down at his opponant. "I am Connor MacLeod of Clan MacLeod. I was born in 1518 in the village of Glenfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. There can be only ONE!"
The sword came down swiftly and surely.
Silence reigned among the Powers That Be. Finally, the oldest spoke. "Well, I guess that's one way to use all that excess mystic energy."
AN: Yes, I know Duncan faced a "Demon" in the series. I say it wasn't a true demon, but, say, the essence of those few quickenings that were released with no immortals nearby to 'claim' them. Ahriman was thus just a rolling mass of raw spirit. :P
