They’d sent a puddle jumper through the gate not long after he’d help shoulder Beckett’s body to the SGC. The return trip wouldn’t take long. They’d return by the way station. If Elizabeth hadn’t ordered the puddle jumper they’d have to take the overlong Prometheus route. He’d like to think, Elizabeth had sent the jumper because she wanted him to return quickly. Maybe she remembered their last kiss and wanted another. The kiss had been a surprise. Elizabeth had cornered him as he’d left his quarters.
He knew what she was after.
She’d chosen him to set her on fire.
