Prologue

Sam could not see any of his fellow demon hunters as he fought his way through the party crowd. He was worried: he had lost Buffy and Dean more than two hours ago as they had pursued the VSaraal Demon deep into the forest. Part of him hoped that they had at least managed to stay together for their sakes – another part of him feared the same.

Finally, he spotted the familiar tip of a red-headed crown – Willow! Within moments he was next to her and Xander.

“Are they here?” He questioned breathlessly after a ten yard sprint.

“Who? No! They’re with you!” Willow responded with an increasing tone of panic lacing her voice.

“They were but we… I… I lost them!”

“Relax,” Xander tried to console them even though he was not even sure he was convinced himself, “I don’t know about Dean, but if he’s anything like Buffy then they’ve got this… they’ll be ok!”

“I’m not worried about the demon!” Sam exploded as Xander shook his head in complete understanding. “Well, I am but only because I’m scared they’ll kill each other before they even find the demon!”

“Look, Buffy wouldn’t…” Willow began pathetically, “she wouldn’t… he’s human!” She offered the last part with a weak trace of hope in her voice, as the ground beneath their feet began to tremble violently and the moon above was cast over by a blood red hue.

“Uh-oh!” Xander gulped as people around the, started to party even harder, somehow managing to believe that this was all part of the Halloween festivities.

The sky around them roared as spears of light were thrown from above – the party continuing regardless, even as the loud metal band was drowned out by the even louder thunder.

“We’ve got to get these people out of here!” Sam yelled at the top of his vocal capacity; Willow and Xander nodding their agreement without really hearing him but assuming they knew what he would be saying.

Willow pointed to the stage, gesturing to the audio equipment that might give them a shot at being heard over the din.

They had not even made it two steps when a giant crack tore through the pavement before them – the crowd finally seeming to realize the danger and dispersing in a frenzied mania.

The roaring above them reached a new level of ferocity as the only three people present who knew what was happening fought to hold onto something for support. And then… Nothing!
*****

The glen was covered in the sticky red substance. It clung to almost every twig, every leaf, every branch.

Cold, yellow eyes stared vacantly into nothingness as two more bodies made contact with the hard earth beside the bested demon; but these bodies were not dead.

They moved: with each other and against each other; heat so intense radiating from both that it seemed to warm the cool October air around them. This was just as well as clothing was torn off in a daze of passion, both fighting for dominance as they had since the first day they had met.

They rolled around on the blood soaked floor completely oblivious to anything but the kiss they were engaged in – their tongues locked in a fierce battle that eventually both would win. The odds rolled in his favor as he flipped her over on her back one final time, a large rock blocking any further travel as he sank his hard, throbbing member inside of her hot, wet depths with a growl of satisfaction – need overcoming him entirely as he thrust into her petite but powerful body hard and fast; feeling both as though his life depended on it and as though it would be the absolute end of him.

Only she could rival the strength and passion he showed now as her legs coiled around his waist to draw him further inside of her channel. Her hands were everywhere: his back, his hair, his ass – always tracing or scratching the flushed and now overly sensitive skin and bringing him ever closer to his ultimate, overpowering release.

She rolled them back the way from which they had came to assert her dominance, leaning over so as not to lose contact with his mouth as she rode him wildly into oblivion. His hands reached up into her hair – moist with sweat and stained crimson with blood – but he did not notice this; he simply drew her in deeper for a kiss – his tongue fighting with hers for he knew not what reason. This was just how it was – how they should always be: together… joined!

He forced them into a sitting position so that he could feel all of her divine naked flesh against him; his hands cupping the ass he had stared at often, to pull her as far onto his shaft as nature would allow.

Soon, two months of frustration, longing and pent up passion resonated through the night as they screamed their simultaneous release – heat consuming both as it never had before.

Collapsing back against the ground, Dean swept Buffy’s tangled hair out of her face and gazed truly into her eyes for the first time; amused as well as somewhat distressed at the confusion he found mingled with the lust that he found there.

Deciding this was not a moment that either should ruin with words, Dean claimed her mouth once again in a deep kiss and felt her submit to him as he carefully rolled her over again; their hunger indulged, but not yet satisfied.
