The Same Demon (Giles/John Winchester)

Author: Raven Morbisk
Title: The Same Demon
Disclaimer: I don’t own, you cannot sue.
Summary: He needs his help for the same demon.

John Winchester was sitting in a dark little unknown bar in the wrong side of Cleveland. This side of Cleveland was mostly demons and vampires and it irked him that this Rupert Giles had asked to meet him here. Looking around the bar John was tempted to just light this dump in flames upon seeing the different kinds of demons.

The Englishman had called him a few days ago, leaving a message on his cell phone, saying that he could help with THE demon if John was willing to help him in return. The man sounded determined if not vengeful. Needless to say that he was intrigued so when he heard the message he got in his truck and drove to Cleveland.

“John Winchester?” John looked up from his beer and was greeted by a man that looked older than him with graying hair and a tired expression. “My name is Rupert Giles.” John accepted the extended hand and shook it firmly.

“You said you could help in return for help?” John questioned as he motioned for Rupert to take a seat across him. Rupert nodded in response and took a good look around the bar before turning his full attention to John.

“I have an army of Slayers and two dozen good witches at your disposal.” His voice was low but John heard him clearly. “My witches can track your demon and my Slayers can provide the needed distraction for you or your boys to take the demon out.” Giles leaned back in the chair and waited for John’s reply.

“Slayers, wow.” He had to say, he was impressed. He had met a Slayer nearly two years ago and he had taken a liking to the strong but petite blonde. “But I don’t trust witches.” He added with a more sour expression.

“You’ll only need one and she wants this demon dead.” Giles voice was so cold it made John wonder who this demon attacked that he was so ready to jump into battle with his Slayers and witches.

“With Slayers and witches, you could take out the demon yourself.” John mused aloud. Surely, he thought, with witches and Slayers that there would be some magical way to kill the demon. “Why do you want my help?” He asked a little more suspiciously.

“You have the Colt.” Giles stated like it was the most normal fact to know. John couldn’t help but look around the bar to see who heard him but none of the demons looked in their direction. “And your eldest might want revenge as well.”

“Why?” John regretted asking the moment the word left his mouth. Whatever the reason, it couldn’t have been a good one if they were sitting here discussing what to do with the demon. Plus he had this feeling he really wasn’t going to like the reason.

“The demon killed my daughter.” Giles closed his eyes and looked away, memories of his first Slayer flooding his mind. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes again, staring hard into John’s. “On the night your grandson turned six months.”
