Beer Bad for Buffy and before season one for Supernatural
This was the weirdest situation he had ever been placed in. This had never happened to him before, so for him to be sitting inside his car outside a house waiting to take another guy out on a date, was a little overwhelming. He wasn’t even gay!
This date kinda said otherwise.
This entire thing blindsided him. He had stopped in town to rest before going up to Stanford to check up on his brother. It was a really long drive from Sunnydale, so he had pulled his car over by the college campus. He stepped into a bar and realized just how out of place he was. It was a bar, yes, but it was for college kids. He had nothing in common with them.
He wound up talking with the bartender, who he found was a kid who didn’t go to college. The conversation was light, and he didn’t know it at the time, but he was flirting with the guy. He didn’t realize and neither did the bartender, but the woman who tried to flirt with did.
“Who’s your friend, Xand?”
“Dean, this is my best friend, Buffy,” Xander smiled. “Buffy, this is my hopefully new regular because he tips well friend, Dean.”
She shook his hand and he tried to sweet talk, but she only giggled and walked away to join her friends, three guys who were acting like complete idiots. After watching them fall out of their chairs numerous times, he turned his attention back to Xander and continued chatting him up.
He stayed until the bar closed, which was actually pretty late. He surprised himself when he asked Xander if he’d see him around. First, because he was not gay and second, he was supposed to be looking after Sam in college.
Dean had gone back to the bar the next night, where he just talked and talked and talked. Xander got off early since it was little slow and after much stuttering and blushing, he asked if Dean wanted to go out.
He should have said no. He wanted to scream out about his heterosexuality, but he just didn’t. He said yes. They parted ways, Xander went home to change and Dean went to get his wits about him about his first gay date. He wondered briefly if there were some handbook about this type of stuff. A straight man going on a gay date, and quite possibly enjoying it. What would happen if he enjoyed it too much? Was he going to have sex with Xander? He didn’t think he was ready for that quite yet.
After getting ready, he followed Xander’s directions and met him at his house.
“Yea,” Xander nodded as followed Dean to his car. “Cool car.”
He liked his car. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad.
