A/N: This is my first fic. I adjusted time-lines in my head to match. Dade arrives in New York just before Buffy visits. Buffy is 16, so is every one else but the usual adults.
ANY feedback is welcome. I hope you enjoy.
It had been almost a week since she had sent Angel to hell, since she had set foot in Sunnydale. ‘Damn,’ she though to her self as she looked around Cyberdelia. ‘I never thought that I would be back here.’
Buffy had found this place the year prior on one of her visits to see her father after the divorce.
She had been wandering the streets looking for something to do in this place. It didn’t have as many vamps as she thought it would for a big city. She walked in to club and felt the bass of the music hit her, but what struck her the most was the overwhelming amount of computers and games.
She was in cyber heaven. No one knew her little secret accept her parents and Dade. That’s why her mother was so disappointed when her grades had slipped after her calling. To everyone else she was just Buffy The Vampire Slayer, airhead, and former vapid cheerleader. To her parents and Dade she was a computer genius. She never had to try with computers, it just sort of happened.
As she walked farther into the club, she could here that cat calls and propositions. ‘As if,’ Buffy thought as she glided to the bar.
Buffy froze as she heard a voice, “You’re pretty good, for a girl.” That one little phrase. It made her so angry, not just the word but also the voice.
She couldn’t take it any more she just had to say something. “Well, well. Fancy seeing you here,” she said from behind the man with the voice.
‘Oh, crap,’ was the only thought in Dade’s head as he heard the voice from the past. The girl he was standing next to whipped around, “Who the hell are you?”
Dade turned around slowly trying to paste a smile on. “Buffy,” he said in a tone that he told her all she need to know.
“Hey, Dade. How’s it been? Haven’t see you in a while. Who’s your friend?”
“Buffy, this is Kate. Kate this is Buffy.”
“Whatever,” Kate replied, taking in Buffy So-Cal look and deciding that she wasn’t worth the while, turning back to her game.
“I’ll be right back,” he said to Kate as he dragged Buffy away.
“What are you doing here Buffy? Last I heard you were in Cali, soaking up the sun.”
“I’m visiting my dad, Dada. They got a divorce after everything happened. You would know that if you hadn’t stopped writing.”
“I’m sorry Buffy. I just didn’t know what to say. I mean you burned down a gym.”
“I had my reasons!” she cried indignantly. “Anyways it doesn’t matter. I’m not here to cause problems. I will be gone tomorrow by noon.”
He watched as she floated though the club towards the door. “It was good to see you Dade,” she threw back.
‘Yeah,” he thought. ‘You too.’
Buffy looked for anyone familiar. Anyone she thought could help her find Dade.
