Anita looked up to see Jason walking back with some vending machine snacks. The LA flight had been delayed and it had grown somewhat late. Anita snagged a bag of chips.
Jean-Claude had been nervous and excited that he had managed to convince the Los Angeles master of a visit. Why he had been nervous or this was a big deal, she didn’t know. All she knew was that she was suppose to wait with Jason to greet them.
The werewolf wore a now wrinkled tailored suit, paid for by Jean-Claude, that led Anita to believe that this was a bigger deal than Jean-Claude had let on. Frustrated by a lack of information, she turned to Jason, who was happily demolishing his own chips.
“Who exactly are we meeting?” She finally asked, wondering if he had any more information than she did. For the last hour they had watched the monitor like vultures over a corpse and had hardly spoken a word.
Anita didn’t know why she hadn’t asked but it most likely had to do with the fact that Jean-Claude was nagging—yes, nagging. There could be no other word for it–– her over the flight information. Finally, the vampire had shut up when the flight had been shown to be on time.
Jason looked at her a bit perplexed. He reached into his pockets and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper. “Jean-Claude said we were to meet these people. I don’t know who is who.” He said as he handed her the paper.
Anita snagged the paper and slowly read aloud. “Angel. Faith. Spike. Willow. Dawn.” She frowned. “Are you sure these are names?”
“Yeah, Jean-Claude just gave me this list and told me to go with you to meet them.”
Anita sighed, her temper was flaring close to the edge. “I don’t even know who we are supposed to be looking for in the first place. This just looks like a list of random nouns than names.” She admitted.
“I can’t argue with that, can I?” a girl suddenly spoke. Anita jumped and looked at the teenaged girl in front of them. She smiled, “Are you Anita and Jason?” She asked.
“Who are you?” Anita hissed warily.
The girl seemed to relax and her smiled grew. “Oh thank god, we’ve been looking for you every where.” She pulled out a cell phone. “I’m Dawn, by the way.”
Anita sighed. She was going to kill Jean-Claude. She thought as she heard the girl babble into the cell phone.
She turned to Jason but he werewolf was looking sadly at his bag of chips. It seemed that he was out of Doritos.
Anita knew this was going to be a long night.
