A/N: While Bruce is recovering from a broken back, Nightwing will fill in his roster spot. Starts after the Thanagarian invasion. I’m nixing most of the Knightfall story arc. Don’t feel like incorporating it.

Watchtower Original Seven Meeting Room
Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Nightwing, J’onn J’onnz, and Kyle Rayner were discussing the people they already invited into the Justice League. They had asked every hero they could get ahold of. Except one. And he was the topic of conversation.
“Why aren’t we contacting Xander?” Wally asked. He was the only one of the six heroes that got along with Xander. J’onn and Nightwing have never met him, but Dick has heard Barbara complain about being humiliated by Xander every time he goes to see how Bruce is recuperating. And frankly, he was getting tired of it. Bruce always taught to expect the unexpected and never underestimate any opponent.
“He told me to put clothes on.” Wonder Woman said while her arms were crossed.
“He painted my hair green, after he tried to kill Luthor.” Superman stood up to walk to a window. He had been really embarrassed by that stunt. Even his Ma and Pa had a good chuckle about it.
“He’s in a relationship with the woman partially responsible for mentally scarring Tim Drake.”
OK, so Kyle has the only legitimate reason to hate the kid. But anyone who can get the best of Big Blue and do it with style can’t be all bad. Right?
“I get why you hate the kid, Kyle. But isn’t he one of you?”
“Realistically, yes. Philosophically, no. He’s a Green Lantern that doesn’t follow the rules. He should have his ring removed permanently.”
“And who will do that, Kyle? You? Are you willing to go all out to get a ring off someone who is helping keep this planet spinning only because he doesn’t follow the rules? I may be just an immature adult, but hasn’t the kid earned a few points for helping stop the apocalypse?”
“Yes, he’s done good. But there are rules we live by. If even one of us don’t, it’ll make us all look bad.”
“I wish to meet this individual. Any Green Lantern that can upset the League, I have to meet to find out why.” The baritone voice of J’onn reverberated throughout the meeting room.
Superman made the final decision. “Since Flash is the only one of us not to be uncomfortable around Xander, he’ll make the offer. Maybe to keep an eye on him, we let him choose some of the League to help him out on the Hellmouth.”
“As long as it’s none of us.” Wonder Woman was adamant about hanging around the younger Green Lantern than anyone of the other six.
Wally walked up to J’onn. “Hey, Dad. Can I have the keys to the car?”
“WALLY! GET TO THE TRANSPORTER! THE LAST TIME YOU FLEW A JAVELIN, YOU WRECKED IT!” Diana’s voice was echoing through the entire station.
“Yes, Mommy.” Flash ran to the transporter and J’onn beamed him to Sunnydale.
When Wally materialized, he had to ask. “Is it THAT time of the month already? Maybe we should move the Watchtower to constantly be on the opposite side of the planet that the moon is on.”
A voice was heard over his communicator. “I heard that, Walter. You’re in for it when you get back.”
“Me and my big mouth.”
