Molly sighed as she saw that there was nothing on the road to show that she was going in the right direction. “We're lost”

David frowned at the map. “We're not lost.”

Molly turned to him and raised an eyebrow. “Really? Then where are we?”

David looked at the map for a few more moments before grinning. “We're on the scenic route.”

“Lost.” Molly repeated.

“Think about it this way,” David said as he slid closer to his wife, “it's more romantic this way.”

Molly pouted slightly even as she felt the beginning of a smile creep over her face. “No. I'm mad at you.” When she felt his lips right below her ear, she turned to push him, laughing. “Jerk.”

Neither of them saw the farmer in the middle of the road until it was almost too late.

Faith didn't see the point of looking around once Molly had taken them back to where the car had crashed. Get the chick to safety and then they could come back and salt and burn the ghost. Easy enough.

She thinks that Dean agrees with her but Sam and B were taking the time to calm her down and explaining why. It shouldn't fucking matter man.

She exhales loudly when they finally get in the car and continue down the road.

Of course that's when Big Ugly shows up.

Big Ugly? Faith knows now that she's been around B for too long. She'd take off if it wasn't for Sammy. And Dean. And maybe a bit of B too.

It doesn't matter though. The second Dean drives through the ghost, his car starts to stutter and fail.

Just. Fucking. Great.

To be honest, Buffy can't blame Molly when she started to back away from the group of them. Seeing a group strangers load up on weapons that they already had in the trunk of their car during a night like the one she'd been having must have not been big with the comfort level. Still people could die if she didn't stay with them.

“David?” She heard Molly ask timidly and did she say that out loud?

“Look, I don't have time for this.” She heard Dean ground out next to her. “Listen. That man that was chasing you? He's a ghost. Evey year on this night, he looks for someone to kill. Tonight that's you. Now our first plan was to get you off on this road but that didn't go over too well with Farmer Roadkill.”

Molly looked at all of them. “That can't be possible.” Even as she said the words though, it looked like she was realizing what they were saying was the truth. Still...”You're all crazy.”

“If that turns out to be true, my mind has come a long way in what it makes up.” Buffy answered.

Dean smirked. “You've been dreaming of someone like me sweetheart?”

Before Buffy could answer, Sam cleared his throat reminding them of the task at hand.

“Look Molly,” Buffy tried again. “Any chance we have of finding David for you comes from getting rid of this thing. Now you can call the nice people with the straitjackets after we save your...after we save you okay?”

Molly nodded hesitantly. “Ok. What do we do next then?”

Molly sat with Sam and Buffy as they looked through the scrap book. This man staring at her through the pictures with his wife couldn't have been the same ghost that was causing all of this.

“Death can change you.” Buffy said silently, as if she was reading her thoughts.

“That much?” Molly questioned.

“He's dead.” Sam said. “And it was due to something he couldn't control.”

“Yeah, shit like that can drive you crazy.” A voice said joining them. The trio looked up and saw Faith standing there, her eyes almost hard with remembrance.

Molly wanted to ask what she knew about the subject but then Dean came in. Apparently there was nothing to be found downstairs and now he wanted to do a sweep of where they were. Molly's eyes followed him with curiosity. He didn't like her and she didn't know why. It was almost as if there was something more. Something about David maybe? If that was the case though, she should have been the one with the attitude,

“Ignore him.” Buffy said with a small smile. “Sometimes he gets carried away with the job.”

“It's not me getting carried away here.” Dean said as he rejoined them. “Faith found something.”

Faith watched as Sam and Dean laid the skeleton of Mrs. Greenlee that they found in the back room to rest. Not that she couldn't do it, it was just hotter to watch Sammy work out all those muscles.

“So if we lay Greenlee to rest, will he be able to move on too?”

Faith watched as Buffy stilled and Dean shrugged. “That is way of out our jurisdiction lady.”

“You all hunt these things but you don't know what happens to them?”

Damn, Faith didn't think Buffy even breathed since Molly asked her first question. “Anything can happen to them.” Faith answered. “Know some people who made it to hell and back so I guess it's up to them really.”

“Who do you know that's come back from hell?” Dean asked. Sam also looked curious in her answer.

“Ain't me.” Faith answered, “That's all you need to know.”

Faith and Buffy shared a look. It was one of those mushy bonding together over past moments that only B really seemed to bring out in her but for some reason, Faith didn't mind. Much.

Molly's scream broke the spell.

Buffy and Dean ran through the woods towards the tool shed, following the sounds of Molly screaming. She prayed that Sam was right in his guess that Greenlee was buried under that tree. They got to the shed and broke in to find the ghost cutting Molly. Dean didn't waste anytime shooting it and Buffy raced forward to cut Molly down.

“Oh thank god.” Molly said.

“Actually it's Dean.”

Buffy rolled her eyes with amusement as she cut through the bonds but stopped when Molly's shriek alerted them to the presence behind them. Buffy jumped down, with her own shotgun in hand and fired. Greenlee disappeared yet again.

“Always have to save the day don't ya?”

Buffy shrugged and smiled. “Kind of in the job description.” When Molly was loose, the three of them ran out as fast as the they could. They didn't get to far in the woods before Greenlee appeared again, this time going after Buffy, knocking her far out of the way.

“For the love of-” She didn't get to finish her statement as she watched when Greenlee was consumed by flames.

“Way to go Sammy.” Dean said.

“Where's David?” Molly said.

Buffy and Dean looked at each other before Dean walked off in the direction of where they left Sam and Faith.

“Buffy?”

“Let's get back to everyone.”

It was a drive to take Molly to see her husband. Four out of the five people in the car couldn't imagine anything really good coming from this except for Molly having to deal with the truth.

Finally.

Faith never imagined herself sitting with Buffy and a ghost, helping her to mourn her death. When Molly learned the truth, that David never died in the car crash but in fact she did and that the farmer that was chasing her was someone that she had killed, Molly was skeptical to believe them. But then she saw the proof. 15 years had past from that night and yet it was all she could live, year after year.

Faith got that.

“You all said that you don't know what happens when someone moves on.”

“Never taken the plunge myself but I was close enough a couple of times.”

“I died once.”Buffy said. Faith turned surprised eyes on Buffy; she wasn't sure that B was going to tell the story. Faith had never heard it from Buffy herself but Dawn and Xander gave her the cliff notes. “I was surrounded by peace and I was with my mom.” Faith felt bad for B, she knew how awesome Joyce was and it must've hurt like hell to be ripped away from her again.

“What happened?” Molly asked. “ I mean, you're alive aren't you?”

Buffy nodded. “There was a spell.” She shook her head as Molly's eyes got hopeful. “There were major consequences and some days it still hurts to be here.”

“Besides.” Faith said. “It's been 15 years. B was gone for all of three months. Whatever was brought back wouldn't look like you.' She shook her head. “Hell it wouldn't even be you. Not completely.” This time it was Buffy who looked surprised but Faith didn't have the time to explain her trip in Angel's head and her sort of first hand experience with that situation.

“So this is really it.” Molly said sullenly. “Wh-What do I do?”

“Just let go.” Buffy answered.

Molly nodded and got up from in between them. Faith saw as Sam and Dean watched Molly disappear into the sunlight.

“She wasn't so bad.” Dean said as the slayers rejoined them. “For a ghost.”

“So where to next?” Buffy asked.

“Something to eat.” Faith and Dean answered at the same time.

“Should have known.” Sam laughed.

“What?” Faith asked. “Hungry and horny. You know me.” she emphasized her point by pulling Sam to her as if he could satisfy one of her hungers right there on the side of the Impala.

“You know if this is something all slayers get,” Dean said, “I'm here at your service.”

Buffy grinned as she pulled her boyfriend to her. “Maybe I'll take you up on it.”
