They arrived on the crime scene, and even Brennan had to admit this was one of the most gruesome murders she had ever seen.

"You remember that coyote plastic surgery woman? This - this is like that," Booth baulked at the sight of the corpse; the victim had been dead only a few hours - a day at most, but the flesh was bloody and ripped to shreds.

Brennan crouched by the body, carefully surveying the damage. In the one eye the body had left she saw reflected the light of a bright full moon. Normally beautiful, the way it bathed the unfortunate soul in front of her in an eerie light put her on edge, "No, this is nothing like that. However this woman died - the marks-" she traced a swipe across the remains, "this was a violent and brutal attack. Look at these, they're almost like claw marks."

Seeley Booth tried to look closer, "So, erm, it was maybe a Wolverine type that did this?"

'Bones' Brennan looked at him in puzzlement and he hastily added, "Pop culture? X-men? You know...metal claws?"

The awkward silence that followed was quickly interrupted by Booth's phone ringing, "I gotta take this." Eager to get away from the mauled dead person, he turned away, and walked towards his car.

"Bones."

She didn't look up, "Hold on I just want to get a closer look at these marks."

"Bones, this is important and over my head. We've been told to take the body back, and wait for a specialist in 'these types' of murder."

This made the anthropologist look up from her work, "Says who?"

"Says my superiors," Booth looked exasperated, "Apparently some guy the government has been in touch with for a while. A Daniel Osbourne. I don't know, we've gotta wait."
